Ephrata Public Library aims to put the FUN in fundraising!
They go above and beyond whatโs expected. Books are only a fraction of the resources that are offered at EPL, in addition to movies, interactive games, virtual events, passport services, community gardens, transportation and more. What better way to learn about what the Library has to offer than to dive into the Adventure Story yourself!
Weโve been honored to work with EPL on their 2020, 2021, and 2022 annual fundraising campaigns. In order to lean into the Library's EXPLORE theme, we took a story-book approach by building two unique characters that would narrate the campaign. Mya, our fearless adventure guide, is closely followed by her buzzing sidekick, Beatrice, as they learn about the library together.

A few weeks ago, we shared a recent rebrand we did for our friends at the Elizabethtown Public Library, and today, we'd love to give you a closer look at a tool we created to assist in positioning them as a Keystone of their community and bring their story to their audience.
We hope you enjoy this video packed full of fun facts and Did You Know's, proving that this local library is responsible for way more than bringing books to the table.

We're excited to share this recent brand refresh and collaboration with the Lancaster Education Foundation. During our discovery phase we learned that their brand did not accurately represent the diverse group of people they serve, it lacked consistency, and that internally it felt stagnant. LEF made it clear at the very beginning that they were in search of an identity that was approachable, inclusive, and to better represent the Lancaster community and people they serve.
We aimed to bring a fresh and relatable sensibility to the services they provide in order to leave a lasting impression on the students, families, faculty, and alumni who benefit from all that LEF does. It has a grounded and urban appeal while remaining professional and accessible. The energy and movement of the wordmark and icon, coupled with the brushstroke and graffiti elements, evoke a feeling of progression, providing a pathway for those in our community to always look forward as they undertake their educational journeys, ever forward into the future.

Vision Corps is a leading non-profit organization in Pennsylvania with a mission to empower individuals who are blind or vision impaired to attain independence. Having the opportunity over the years to partner with their team has been inspiring and fulfilling every step of the way.
When they turned to us for assistance in re-designing their website, we were honored with the opportunity to assist in re-positioning the wonderful work they do for their various audiences. As do most projects, the VisionCorps website overhaul presented several unique challenges that required strategic planning and thoughtful solutions. None were more important than developing a set of tools to assist users with impaired vision. This included creating high-contrast modes, text scaling, inversion, color filters, and more. These tools, while able to serve vision impaired web users, also act as an educational opportunity to sighted people, helping create empathy and understanding for what barriers and hurdles exist in everyday life.

We spent several months working with Elizabethtown Public Library, Deb Drury, and her amazing team to refresh this community staple and bring their brand to life.
Key themes we uncovered throughout our Discovery phase allowed us to recognize that this brand needed to have an identity that felt approachable, was easily recognizable, efficiently highlighted their various services for target audiences, and represented the diverse people and community of Elizabethtown.
These discussions resulted in the development of a foundational statement..."A Community Keystone." The end result is a brand that is colorful, adaptable, and one that has an array of design elements and illustrations that allow the library to use and remain creative.

Over the summer, we had the privilege to work alongside Studio Tenn to develop and design their wordmark, show art, social graphics, ads, and more for their upcoming 2022/2023 season!
Representing the season's overarching theme of "Travel," we helped develop stickers and stamps for the shows, along with various elements that allow the pieces to look and feel worn, used, and well-traveled.
Tonight, September 30, and tomorrow October 1, are the big nights for their first show of the season, "Aida." In coordination with The Tennessee Performing Arts Center, we are excited to see this monumental production showcasing our promotional work.
For the show art, it was essential to capture the essence of the love story between Aida (an enslaved Nubian princess) and Radames (an Egyptian soldier betrothed to the Pharaoh's daughter). Using highly stylized illustrations along with a graphic developed to mirror the "Eye of Horus," the characters are represented by combining a male and female eye. The pyramids and sand dunes help place the story firmly in Egypt, while the stars and constellations in the sky support one of the more famous musical numbers in the show "Written in the Stars." Finally, we added a unique approach to overlay effects and textures to give the final artwork that extra magical, subtle glowing feel.

We had a great time gathering at The Imperial Terrace at Holiday Inn Lancaster for the September Merchant Mixer with Lancaster City Alliance.
Thanks to all who took the time and energy to create space for local business owners and professionals to connect.

It was an honor to work with the Fulton Theatre to create the artwork and develop promotional pieces for the world premiere production of "For Colored Boyz," winner of their inaugural "Stories of Diversity Play Festival."
After conversations with writer and director Bryan-Keyth Wilson, we knew it was vital we capture and communicate the truly important and relevant messages of this showโa challenge we did not take lightly.
In this choreopoem, 5 characters, each symbolized by a color and representing a different age and time period, share the experiences of past, present, and future men of color. We made sure these themes were the basis of the artwork and that the final design helped tell the story. The final result is an urban style mural portraying the 5 characters which are in the midst of being painted...a piece still in the works, a story still not yet finished.

As the Creative Partner for the Fulton Theatre, our team gets the chance to really let their creative juices flow every year as we develop artwork and marketing collateral for the entire season.
This year, the Fulton threw us a bit of a curveball (pun intended) when they said they were going to be doing an extra special season announcementโa first of its kind celebration like no other. They gave us the pitch (another pun intended!) and let us run the bases (we can't help ourselves).
The event was to be called "Fulton at the Ballpark" with the Fulton taking over Clipper Magazine Stadium for a fun-filled, family friendly event.
We had a blast developing the branding for the event, which was intended to be reminiscent of classic baseball uniforms and merchandise.

Over the past year, it's been a privilege working alongside Welcome Home Real Estate. In preparation to strategically branch out as an independent agency, Welcome Home partnered with us to bring their new identity to life. This called for a new brand, a new website, and a slew of new marketing materials that authentically showcased who they are. Doing so successfully enables them to stand out in the local real estate marketplace and makes it easier for Welcome Home to connect with like-minded consumers in search of their service.
During the discovery phase, it became clear they were a little different than what most people would think of when you hear "Real Estate Company." Made up of an incredibly diverse and fun group of agents and office staff members, you'll notice quickly enough that Welcome Home makes their work culture a priority. Their pride in client experiences and their hyper-focus on serving the Lancaster County area is second to none. Having a brand that represented all of those themes was paramount.
Beginning with the Visual Language Board, we focused on brighter color palettes, fonts that felt more natural, and supportive elements that could represent their diversity, culture and the Lancaster county area.
The end result is a wordmark that harkens back to another time, yet has energy and a modern feel, a fun palette of colors to use, an icon that represents the 3 main areas they serve in Lancaster, and simple scene illustrations and brand assets that allow for creativity, flexibility, and adaptability throughout all of their materials.

When it comes to any design, itโs essential to immediately ask the questions: what problems does this need to solve, and how do we want the audience to feel? My inspiration always starts from those two answers. Aesthetically, I keep a mind-bank of any designs, campaigns, or brands I see that are really effective and influential in culture. And, always keeping an eye on recent rebrands from the creatives at Under Consideration is always fascinating.

I think you could ask anyone at Kinectiv where I would live, and theyโd tell you with 100% accuracy, London. Why? Because itโs a city with so much history, but also so much creative energy. Our team has had the pleasure of working with Mainspring since their foundation, helping to brand the organization and develop their website.
Our initial website design featured a homepage focused on introducing the new organization and establishing its role in the Ephrata community. Two years later, that message has been communicated and embraced. It was time for a change that would make the website more community-oriented, not just introductory.
Working with their fantastic team, we developed a new homepage that serves as a dynamic and engaging hub for Ephrata news and events. This new design features upcoming events, business and borough updates, lifestyle blogs, community resources, and more! We built the page to boast an adaptable layout that can be re-organized to showcase different types of content while keeping the site fresh. Weโre thrilled with the result and excited to evolve and grow Mainspring's presence as they continue to mature as an organization!

We hope it was filled with lots of chocolate, time with family & friends, and plenty of celebration.

Since 1928, Lancaster Catholic High School has provided our county with excellent education and activities, helping to inspire bright futures in their students. We were proud to partner with them to develop a website for their capital campaignโCherish, Love, Honor.
The intention of this campaign website is to highlight the school's mission and how that plays into its fundraising goals. By the end of the campaign, their goal is to have $12.7 million which will cover the cost of a STEM Innovation Center, Auditorium, Student Commons, and New Cafeteria.
Our team sought to make the user's experience on this site seamless so that understanding the mission, campaign, and how to donate would be easy as can be! One of our team's favorite parts is the progress bar at the bottom of the page, which was a highlight for both the Web Team and Design Team. The bar is shaped like the iconic LCHS building and is animated so as donations come in, the outline fills in.
A few other highlights of the project include...
โช๏ธ Using animations and movement throughout the page to make the content more eye-catching. Some of our favorite details are the animated lines and checkmarks, the horizontal sliding images, and, of course, the building-shaped progress bar at the bottom.
โช๏ธ Focusing the text primarily on impact statements that give readers an overview of the content. For those who want more details, we linked various resources throughout.
โช๏ธ Including a navigation bar at the top and a "back to top" button as you scroll. This helps the audience avoid getting lost as they scroll.
โช๏ธ Bringing to life the building mock-up at the top of the page by adding clouds, birds, trees, etc.
