What did think after completing his first Six3Tile shower installation?

His biggest takeaway: the time savings were undeniable.

The entire Six3Tile installation took Steve approximately 10 hours—including re-plumbing the shower. By comparison, he estimates a traditional tile installation would take a minimum of two days, and often closer to four.

A few more lessons from the project:

▪️ Order an extra panel. Unexpected things can happen during any installation, and having a spare panel on hand is worth it.

▪️ For a DIYer, the total material cost can be comparable. Once you account for the tile, setting materials, waterproofing components and other supplies required for a traditional installation, the overall investment may be similar.

▪️ Handle the panels carefully. He calls special attention to the bottom edge where the panel is grooved, be thoughtful while handling during cutting and installation.

▪️ Contractors should take another look. Faster installations can mean less disruption for homeowners, lower overall project costs and the potential for stronger margins.
