Tonight at the Library: Double the Fun!
We have a packed evening ahead at the Garrard County Public Library! Here is what is happening tonight, June 11th:
Uncover A Story: Library Challenge
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Are you ready to channel your inner old-school detective? For this Summer Reading challenge, we are going completely unplugged. Patrons will turn in their cell phones at the door and receive a packet of trivia questions. From there, it is a race against the clock to hunt down the answers the vintage way... using only the physical books on our shelves! Come test your research skills and see if you can solve the mystery without a search engine.
Kentucky Chautauqua: Madeline McDowell Breckinridge in "Votes for Women!"
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
In partnership with Kentucky Humanities, we are thrilled to host a dramatic, live historical performance as part of our America 250 series. Step back in time and meet one of Kentucky's most fierce and influential suffragists. It is a powerful, educational, and deeply moving performance that brings history right to our community.
Whether you want to try your hand at some old school book research or experience living history, we cannot wait to see you tonight. Come for one, or overlap and catch a bit of both!

Your enthusiasm for our Adopt-a-Dino program blew us away, and our first herd flew out the door in mere minutes. Because so many little paleontologists missed out, we went on a rescue mission and brought a brand new herd of 100 plush dinosaurs back to the library! These gentle giants are ready for their forever homes and are waiting for you right at the front desk. There is no formal program this time, just stomp on over during regular hours to claim your prehistoric pal!
We have 100 dinos that are first come, first adopt. To help us spread the joy, we kindly ask that if your family was lucky enough to adopt a dinosaur during our first wave, please leave this herd for the children who missed out last time. Thank you for your amazing community spirit and for helping every young reader get a chance to smile! 📖✨🦕
