🏆 Congratulations to Brian Pham! 🏆

IAC Chapter 26 would like to congratulate Brian Pham on winning the Intermediate Category Point Series Championship! What makes this achievement especially impressive is that it is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and consistency.

Brian has been a regular presence at our practice days, continually refining his skills, seeking feedback, and putting in the effort required to improve. His commitment to the sport, disciplined approach to training, and determination to keep getting better have paid off with an outstanding season and a well-deserved championship.

Success in aerobatics doesn’t happen by accident, it comes from countless hours of preparation, practice, and perseverance. Brian’s achievement is a great example of what can be accomplished through dedication and a positive attitude.

✈️ Chapter 26 Practice Day – Sunday, June 14

Join us at Fox Field on Sunday, June 14, for a full day of aerobatic practice and fun flying!

🕗 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📍 Fox Field (KWJF)

Please bring a printed sequence card for whatever sequence you are currently working on.

⚠️ A quick heads-up: it’s expected to get hot and windy as the day progresses. The weather should be favorable through at least 1:00 PM, so the earlier you arrive, the more flying opportunities you’ll have and the smoother the conditions should be.

📢 If you plan to attend, please send a message to Ramy as soon as possible. We need an accurate headcount to prepare observers, coordinate flying activities, and ensure the day runs smoothly. Please don’t wait until the last minute to respond.

💳 Membership Reminder: If you are a Chapter 26 member and have not yet renewed your dues, please take a moment to do so. Not a member yet? No problem! You can join Chapter 26 at the practice day and become part of our growing aerobatic community.

Another great weekend of aerobatics competition at the Tracy contest! Huge congratulations to all the International Aerobatic Club Chapter 26 members, friends, and fellow competitors who represented the Southwest region so well.

Big congratulations to Brian for winning Intermediate!
Barrett also had an outstanding contest, taking 3rd place and earning a medal in the Free program, and Conrad brought home a medal as well!

Dave had a very strong performance against a tough field of talented pilots and continues to show impressive flying and progress. Not every great performance ends on the podium, but the level of competition and flying this weekend was outstanding.

Our pilots absolutely brought it this weekend:
🏆 Mike took home the top spot in Advanced
🥈 Owen secured 2nd place in Advanced
🥈 Brian grabbed 2nd in Intermediate
🥇 Askar claimed the top spot in Primary
💪 Dave, Will, and Ramy all had strong performances in Intermediate and Sportsman

From top to bottom, an incredible display of skill, progression, and sportsmanship by the entire team.

A massive thank you to Chapter 49 for hosting such a first-class contest—from the smooth operations, to the amazing food, to some of the best-looking trophies out there, and an awesome banquet to wrap it all up. Truly one of the highlights of the season!

The Duel in the Desert Aerobatic Contest is the first contest of the year for the Southwest Region, a great way to start the season and set yourself up for a strong year ahead.

If you’ve been thinking about trying a contest, this is a great opportunity to get in the box, learn, and connect with the aerobatic community. Hope to see a few Chapter 26 pilots there.

This weekend, Dave and Ramy traded the aerobatic box for fresh powder up in Mammoth, and it got us thinking…

What if we organized an annual Chapter 26 Fly-In Ski Weekend?

Here’s the vision:
• Members fly into Mammoth Yosemite Airport (KMMH)
• Other members who drove in can help shuttle pilots between the airport and the ski resort
• Two days of skiing, flying stories, hangar talk, and good company
• Maybe even a group dinner to wrap up the day

It’s the perfect mix of aviation and adventure — because let’s be honest… if we can fly upside down together, we can definitely carve some turns together 😄
