Designing performance in. Designing waste out.

Your floor is part of the navigation system now.

As service robots, AI monitors, and autonomous mobility move into senior living and healthcare, finishes designers used to choose purely for residents now also have to read well to a LiDAR sensor and roll smoothly under a caster wheel.

A few things worth specifying:
→ Gloss in the 25–60 GU range (too shiny "blooms" sensors)
→ Mid-tones over deep blacks (dark fields create LiDAR blind zones)
→ Calm patterns over high-contrast geometry (kinder to visual SLAM)
→ Level changes held to ¼" or less between rooms
→ Slip resistance protected — robot-friendly should never trade away fall safety

The good news: almost everything on a robot-ready spec sheet is already what makes a floor great for the residents living on it.

Save the swipe for your next senior living, healthcare, or wellness brief. 🛠️

Performance starts with the right foundation.

While many rubber products are made with calendered rubber, ECOsurfaces uses Vulcanized Composition Rubber (VCR) as the “muscle” in our flooring products.

Why does that matter? Because unlike calendered rubber—formed under extreme pressure that removes much of its innate energy—VCR helps preserve the performance properties that support comfort, resilience, and durability underfoot.

It’s a material choice rooted in science, made to work harder in the spaces that need it most.

In early childhood spaces, the floor is more than a surface—it’s an active part of how children learn, play, and explore.

For designers, that means flooring must do more: support safety, soften sound, withstand daily messes, and bring energy and imagination into the room. In Pre-K environments, the right flooring helps create spaces that feel welcoming, playful, and ready for discovery.

At the Brooklyn Preschool of Science, Baxt Ingui Architects chose ECOsurfaces rubber flooring throughout to help bring that vision to life—supporting a vibrant environment built for movement, creativity, and messy creativity.

From safety and acoustics to durability and design, the right floor helps early childhood spaces perform beautifully—and feel even more inspiring.

What’s your top priority when designing spaces for early learners?

Let's get real about rubber.

Old truck tires don't belong in a landfill. They belong underfoot.

At ECOsurfaces, we take post-consumer rubber and transform it into high-performance flooring through our circular manufacturing process: reclaimed, compressed, fusion-bonded, and sliced into surfaces that perform beautifully for decades.

The proof is in projects like this one.

Daviess County Public Library — Owensboro, KY
Architect Tuck Hinton of Nashville specified ECOsurfaces flooring, proving that sustainability and design intention aren't a compromise. They're the same decision.

The result: a surface that delivers slip resistance, acoustic comfort, and design flexibility — while keeping end-of-life rubber out of the waste stream.

Because the future of flooring isn't disposable.
It's circular.

First feels on a trip start at the floor.

In hospitality, every arrival sets the tone. From the revolving door to the roll of a luggage cart across the lobby.

Forest RX brings the natural look of wood into these spaces with ergonomic performance.

With a high-performance vinyl surface fusion-bonded to a vulcanized rubber base, it delivers comfort underfoot, reduced noise, and durability designed for high-traffic environments.

Because in hospitality, style should welcome guests in, and performance should carry them through.

What used to hit the road now hits design goals.

We take worn-out tires, give them a glow-up, and turn them into floors that work hard (and look good doing it).

Less waste. More wow. ♻️✨

Therapists and patients are on their feet all day. The floor they’re on isn’t just a finish. It’s part of the recovery process.

ECOcomfort underlayment is engineered for exactly that.

Installed beneath ECOsurfaces rubber flooring, ECOcomfort helps reduce fatigue underfoot: supporting longer sessions, safer movement, and better outcomes.
And unlike foam systems that break down over time, it’s built with reclaimed rubber to perform for the life of the floor.

For therapy and rehab spaces:
→ Reduces fatigue during long treatment sessions
→ Supports balance, stability, and patient comfort
→ Outperforms foam long-term (no compression, no breakdown)
→ PVC-free. Low TVOC. Reclaimed rubber content

Green brings more than color to a space—it brings balance, calm, and creativity.

In education and healthcare environments, green can support memory, reduce stress, and create a stronger sense of comfort and security.

With PVC-free Rx shades like Cactus and Avocado, ECOsurfaces gives designers more ways to bring the benefits of green to the floor.

Safety starts from the ground up. 🛡️

Falls and related injuries are major concerns in commercial environments—and they can directly impact comfort, confidence, and overall quality of life.

At ECOsurfaces, we design flooring to help mitigate those risks with performance-driven solutions built for demanding spaces.

Because safer environments don’t happen by accident—they’re designed that way.

✔ Safety-focused flooring can help support:

Slip resistance
Reduced risk of falls and related injuries
Greater confidence in high-traffic environments
Better everyday performance in demanding commercial spaces

Where do you think safety underfoot matters most?
