Frances Sims Vincent, affectionately known as “Fran”, 83, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at her home.

Fran was born on Friday, January 8, 1948, in Pageland, SC, to the late Gettys and Verla Little Sims.

She shared more than 50 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ronnie Vincent. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and the simple moments that mattered most.

She lived a simple life, but one that was filled with an abundance of love. She found joy in the little things, spending time outside tending to her plants and flowers, opening the pages of a good book, preparing a home-cooked meal, and most of all, being surrounded by the people she loved.

She was a deeply intelligent woman with a curious mind and a love for reading. She enjoyed learning, thinking, and sharing her wisdom with those around her. Her love also showed itself through her cooking. There was always room at her table for family, friends, or anyone who happened to be hungry. Feeding others was one of the many ways she showed how much she cared.

Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them and created memories that will be carried in their hearts for generations to come. Her love, kindness, wisdom, and warmth will continue to live on through each of them.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Though her life was simple, her love was anything but. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family, kindness, knowledge, and love, a legacy that will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she left behind.

In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.

John Albert “Johnny” Laney, 81, of Indian Land, SC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 15, 2026.

He was the son of John Eugene Laney and Mirl Ruth Safrit Laney. Johnny was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved all things fishing, hunting, and tractors. He was a gifted woodworker, skilled carpenter, and hardworking roofing contractor. A man of many talents, he had a remarkable ability to build, create, and work with his hands. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and used the gifts God gave him well throughout his life. His hard work and the things he created will remain a lasting part of his legacy. He also loved a good joke and never missed an opportunity to laugh, cut up, or have a little fun. His sense of humor and the memories he created with those he loved will be cherished for generations to come. While his family will deeply miss his presence, his laughter, his stories, and the good times shared with him, they find comfort in knowing that Johnny has gone home to be with the Lord. His life leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who were blessed to know and love him.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of almost 50 years, Margie Ann Collins Laney; his twin sister, Jo Ann Laney; and his brother, Jim Laney.

Johnny is survived by his three children, Tina Smith (Tommy) of Waxhaw, North Carolina; Jamie Laney (Sherry) of Indian Land, South Carolina; and Johnny Laney (Vanessa) of Heath Springs, South Carolina. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Megan Oxford (Andrew), Levi Laney, Sabrina Whitlock (Matt), Kristen Ramirez (Matt), Sam Laney (Phalesha), Josh Laney (Nickie), Savanna Raver (Dustin), and Caleb Laney (Kylie). He was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren who brought him so much joy: Alexis Oxford, AJ Oxford, Grayson Whitlock, Canaan Ramirez, Joanna Raver, Aubreigh Laney, Gage Whitlock, Shiloh Raver, Waylon Laney, Everette Laney, and Azariah Raver, with Asher Ramirez due to arrive any time. Johnny is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Bill Laney, Betty Griffin, Charles Laney, Lou Park, JoAnn Sammataro, Tommy Laney, and Sue Funderburk, as well as his special friend, Judy Baker, who brought much joy and companionship to his life.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church (1519 Steel Hill Rd., Van Wyck, SC, 29744) with pastors Mitch Ingram, Ricky Cope, and Jason Hurt officiating. A viewing/visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00 – 11:00 am) in the church sanctuary. A committal service will be held immediately following the service at Center Grove Memorial Park in Indian Land, SC.

Willie Kaye Garrison Flynn, 72, of Lancaster, SC, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Atrium Heath CMC Main in Charlotte, NC.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the New Life Free Will Baptist Church Sanctuary (1622 Springdale Rd. Lancaster, SC 29720) with Pastor Doug Pate Officiating. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary from 2:30 - 3:00 pm. Willie will be entombed with her beloved husband of fifty-four years, Billie Max Flynn, in the Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum privately at a later time.

Lowell Hilton Truesdale, affectionately known as “Kool-Mac-Kool, 69, of Westville, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Lowell was born on Wednesday, December 7, 1956, in Camden, SC, to the late Paul Hazel and Elvira Hilton Truesdale. Throughout his life, Lowell has always been known for his one-of-a-kind personality. A hard-working man who was not afraid of manual labor, he spent countless years working in construction as a pipe-fitter. In his free time, you could find him spending time with his family, cruising an old country back road, or, as everyone knew, being the avid hunter and fisherman he was; he could also be found out scouting for new spots. If there was a deer trail to follow or a fish to be caught, chances were Lowell was going to land them before you could even get your rifle raised or line in the water. A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to many, Lowell leaves behind an impression on the hearts of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Lowell is preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-years, Paula Williams Truesdale; as well as a sister, Sandra Truesdale.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Christie Truesdale (Joshua Deaton) and Jamie Truesdale (Jackie Payne); sister, Linda Taylor; brother, Joey Truesdale; beloved grandchildren, Alexis (Shyhiem), Aaron, Jalynn, Jase, and Jazzlynn Truesdale as well as Jordan Deaton; cherished great grand babies, Ellianna, Aylani, and Kyssac White; very special friends, Darlene Boone, Randy Farr, Scottie Broughton, Evelyn Wheeler, and Paul Seals; also left to cherish his memory are numerous other relatives and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2026. in chapel of A Simple Service Burial & Cremation (201 N. Catawba St., Lancaster, SC 29720), with Chaplain Chad Cotton officiating. A viewing/visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Lowell will be laid to rest in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery next to his mother and father immediately following the service. It is asked that guests dress comfortably/ casually for the service due to the high temperature expected.
