Web Design and Development - examples of skills, trials, errors, learning, and creation. Friendly Web Strategies

A lot of local businesses think they need a big website to get started. In reality, most successful sites start with a strong foundation.

For many businesses, that looks like:

• A clear home page
• A focused services page
• A simple way for customers to contact you

That’s enough to start generating real leads.

From there, your site can grow with your business, adding more pages, content, and marketing tools as you go.

I wrote a quick breakdown of how this works and why it’s effective for local businesses:

If you’re a local business owner and thinking about your website, this is a good place to start.

Why Your Small Business Needs a Website Built for Flexibility and Scale 01/15/2026

Most business owners are told to “just get a website.”

What they are not told is that many of those websites quietly become technical dead ends.

They work fine… until your business grows.

Payments, automation, scheduling, CRM, ecommerce, analytics, reporting, community, fundraising. These are not “extra features.” They are normal parts of modern business operations.

And if your website was not built for that future, growth becomes expensive.

I wrote a new article breaking down why your website should be treated as a business platform, not a digital brochure, and how building correctly from the start prevents painful rebuilds later.

If you own a business or are planning to grow one, this is worth your time.

Vibe Coding Is Changing How Modern Websites Are Built
AI is starting to change more than just how we write code. It is changing how websites, integrations, and internal tools are actually designed and shipped.

Vibe coding is an AI-assisted development workflow that allows teams to describe functionality in terms of intent and outcomes, then use AI to generate a first pass implementation. Human engineers still validate, secure, and harden the final system, but development cycles move dramatically faster.

This approach is becoming common across WordPress, SaaS platforms, marketing automation stacks, and API-driven ecosystems.

I just published a new article breaking down:
• What vibe coding actually is
• What it is not
• The real benefits and risks
• What it means for WordPress businesses
• How to use it responsibly without creating long-term technical debt

If you are building or modernizing a WordPress site and want to move faster without sacrificing stability, this is worth understanding.

Publishing content in multiple platfiorms? A marketing site, a mobile app, customer dashboards, internal tools, documentation. Content flows across all of them. But the systems behind publishing that content often don’t.

When updates require developer involvement, deployments, or platform specific rewrites, friction can build quickly between marketing, product, and engineering teams. It may be worth evaluating when a headless CMS architecture actually reduces that friction.

Explore when and why to use a headless CMS and how platforms like WordPress fit into modern, multi-channel content strategies.

Our Own Website Doesn’t Use WordPress and Why We Will (likely) Still Recommend WordPress for Your Business

We build WordPress and WooCommerce sites every day. It’s the core of our client work, and the platform we trust for businesses that need flexibility, integrations, easy content management, and eCommerce capabilities.

But when it came to building our own website, we made a different choice.
We used a static-site generator instead.

Not because WordPress isn’t a good solution, but because our needs are different from the needs of most businesses we work with.

In this new article, I talk some tech stack details and walk through:
* Why a static site fits our workflow but not most business websites
* How Liquid templating and a Gulp-powered pipeline shape our internal development process
* Where WordPress still shines (and why we recommend it for most clients)
* How to think about choosing the right platform for your goals

If you’ve ever wondered whether WordPress, another CMS, or a more lightweight solution is right for your business, we can help give you a clear framework for evaluating your options for a website that converts!
