Wesson has been part of WQMA since he started training at just 4½ years old! 🏁 From those early days learning the ropes to now earning a championship, he’s come a long way! This one is definitely well deserved, and we couldn’t be prouder! 🏆

Next season, Wesson will be moving up to the Senior class, making this Junior Honda championship an extra special way to close out this chapter of his racing journey! 💚

🏆🏆 DOUBLE CHAMPION!! 🏆🏆

WHAT. A. RACE. 🤯🏁

Wesson went into the final race of the season TIED in Jr Honda points with his buddy JP! That meant one thing… whoever won the race would win the championship! 😳

And these two boys did NOT disappoint!

Starting P3 and P5, they wasted no time showing exactly why they were battling for the championship. It didn’t take long before they had worked their way into 1st and 2nd! 🔥

Wesson took the lead and held onto it through several yellow flags and for quite a few laps. But JP was FAST and wasn’t letting him get comfortable! 😮‍💨

Then came the pass. JP made a beautiful, clean pass on Wesson and took the lead.

And I’ll be honest… I thought to myself, “I’ll still be so proud of him if he finishes 2nd.” ❤️

But then they hit lap traffic.

JP hesitated for just a split second… and Wesson was READY. 👀

He made another clean, perfectly timed pass back into the lead!

And from there, Wesson held on to take the CHECKERED FLAG and the JR HONDA CHAMPIONSHIP! 🏆🏁

This is the kind of racing you LOVE to see. Two buddies. Fast. Clean. Competitive. Racing hard for a championship while still showing each other respect. ❤️🏁

And the best part? This wasn’t Wesson’s only championship! He also took the Jr 160 Championship, making him a DOUBLE CHAMPION for 2026! 🏆🏆

Next year… SENIOR! 😳🏁

And our girl Avelyn had an incredible season too, finishing an impressive 3rd in Lt World Formula! 🥉💜

We couldn’t be prouder of these two and the work they put in all season long. And we are SO proud of all of our WQMA drivers who showed up, raced hard, learned, grew, and gave us an incredible 2026 season!

What a way to end the year! 🏆🏆🥉❤️

That’s our boy!! From dead last in the C! To first in the C! First in the B! And 4th in the A main! 🔥

OMG, DID 42 CAR RACING HAVE THE BEST NIGHT OF HEATS AND LOWER MAINS AT RACE 3 OF REGION 9!!! 🏁💚💜

Last night started off a little rough when Wesson lost a chain in his Junior Honda heat race. That DNF meant he had to play a little alphabet soup and start all the way back in the C Main, working his way up! BUT BOY, DID HE!!! 💪🏁

He took FIRST in the C Main and then came back and took FIRST in the B Main!! 🔥🔥

In his 160 he WON his heat race, sending that car straight into today’s A Main!

Then out came Avelyn… 💜

She had decent heats that put her in the B Mains for both of her classes. But after a few heart-to-hearts, watching some of the other drivers, and getting a little bravery under her butt… something just CLICKED!!! 🙌

In her Light 160 B Main, she started in the 5th position and was absolutely ON FIRE the entire race! 🔥 She passed car after car until she found herself behind one of the best drivers we know. At that point, we were already thrilled! She was fast, clean, and driving with so much confidence!

Then suddenly… at the white flag… SHE DECIDED TO MAKE A PASS!!!! 😭🙌🏁

Literally EVERYONE watching was cheering—even the other driver’s parents! 😂💜 It was not only the highlight of our weekend so far, but honestly, one of the biggest highlights of our entire season!!!!

She also had an impressive run in her World Formula, finishing 4th and putting BOTH of her cars into today’s A Mains!

But honestly, no matter what happens today, we are already SO proud of how this weekend has gone. Today is just the cherry on top! 🍒🏁💜💚

Today was a wild and emotional day for us at WQMA! 🏁💙

Avelyn woke up sick this morning 🤢, and even though we registered her and held onto hope that she might start feeling better in time to race, by the time heat races rolled around, it was pretty clear that it wouldn’t be safe for her—or anyone else on the track—for her to get behind the wheel.

We kept her cozy and cool in the trailer, hoping and praying she would turn a corner and be able to make it out for her mains, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. To say she is devastated is an understatement. This girl LOVES to race! 💔🏁 But ultimately, her health and safety will ALWAYS come first.

It’s safe to say we know who is happy she’s home early today!! 🐕 💛

Meanwhile, Wesson had another great day on the track! 🔥 He WON BOTH of his heat races in Junior Honda AND Junior 160! 🏁🏆 He then brought home a 3rd-place finish in the Junior Honda main and ANOTHER WIN in Junior 160! 🏆🔥 What a weekend for this kid!

Overall, it was a very rough weekend for Avelyn, but if there’s one thing we know about this girl, it’s that she is resilient. She’ll be back out there on August 2, healthy, determined, and ready to take on the track! 💪🏁❤️

Day one of our doubleheader race weekend is officially in the books, and Wesson pulled out every stop he had! 🔥

What an incredible day for him! He brought his A-game and showed everyone what he’s capable of. 💪🏁

Avelyn is still fighting hard against some incredibly competitive drivers. Unfortunately, today we had a mechanical failure when her brake rotor literally fell off the car. 💔 It was no fault of her own and not something even her handler—aka Daddy—could have predicted.

The good news is she’s all fixed up and ready to get back out there tomorrow! 🙌 We’re hoping for a better day for her and a chance to show what she can do!

And just like that… we get to do it ALL OVER AGAIN TOMORROW with another full day of racing! 🏎️💨

We are so proud of both of these kids and can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! 🏁

What an incredible weekend at WQMA's Region 9 race! 🏁❤️

Our family was at the track from Wednesday through Sunday, helping an amazing team of volunteers put on the biggest event of the WQMA season.

This year's event brought together 162 cars, and over the course of the weekend we completed 48 races!!

On Saturday, we wrapped up heat races and lower mains, and we're so proud that all four of our cars earned spots in Sunday's A Main events! 👏

Sunday brought some tough competition. Avelyn just couldn't quite find the speed she needed in either of her classes, while Wesson had great speed all day but came up just short of the podium, finishing 4th and 5th in his A Mains against some incredibly tough competition.

While we didn't bring home any hardware this weekend, we left with something even better, great memories, lots of laughs, and another unforgettable weekend spent doing what we love as a family. ❤️

As a bonus, we wandered over to Evergreen Speedway on Saturday night to catch the Mark Galloway Shootout and enjoy even more incredible racing!

Now it's time for a well-earned lazy day as we recover and regroup before our next challenge, a doubleheader race weekend on July 11th & 12th! 🏎️💨

We're already looking forward to getting back on the track!!

Today is Day 1 of the WQMA Region 9 Race, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Today is all about heat races and lower mains, the first step on the road to tomorrow’s championship features. Every lap matters, and these drivers are ready to leave it all on the track!

Good luck to all of the racers, handlers, and volunteers who make weekends like this possible. We can’t wait to watch some incredible racing!
