Coffee and a kitten. I could tell right away that Dolly had a hollow chest at 2 weeks and that it wasn’t right. At 4 weeks I took her to a vet who said, she’d be fine, she’ll grow with the abnormality. A week passed after that and I noticed she has a rapid breathing rate at rest. I got 3 more opinions and they all agreed she needed surgery. It’s such a rare occurrence, we had a HARD time finding a surgeon. Thank God for all your donations over the last year, we were able to pay for her surgery. Her vet said she should continue on to live a normal life. She’ll just need periodic x-rays to make sure everything is still good as the years go on. She’s the sweetest little creature.

The drugs finally kicked in and the baby finally fell asleep!! 😃 Dolly Purrton was born with a genetic defect called pectus excavatum. It’s where her sternum curves into her abdomen. It’s a rare defect and most kittens don’t make it out of kitten hood unless they get a surgical procedure done.

Well, we finally found a vet that would do the procedure (Madison, WI vet school) and she is now back and recovering. She will likely be in this chest brace for at least 4 weeks.

Stay tuned for more updates on Dolly in her striped sweater and send money cause’ she drained our savings!! 😝

If you’re following Two Furs… let’s be honest, you probably celebrate National Cat Lady Day every single day. 😹

And around here, that just means a little more fur “glitter” on your clothes, a touch of daily "purralysis" and absolutely zero regrets.

Whether you’ve got one cat or a whole crew, today’s your day… we’ll be over here celebrating with kittens, chaos, and just a tiny bit of judgment from the cats. 🐾🩷
