Filter replacement before the freezing temperatures get here!

🥶With the freezing temperatures approaching here are a few tips!
Running your pump non-stop through the freeze is the best way to prevent damage to pipes and equipment. If your pool is on a smart system and its working properly, it's freeze protection will kick in to run the equipment. If your pool is on a manual timer, pull the timer pins so the equipment can run 24 /7. Make sure to run water features and booster pumps as well. Moving water will not freeze.
If you happen to loose electricity here are a few things to do.
1. If you lose power and it is already below freezing the best chance of a good outcome is to cover your equipment with some type of blanket or tarp. The point is to protect it from the wind. The wind will freeze the pipes much quicker than just stagnant air temp. (You must be careful however not to place loose fabric directly on a pool pump that may turn on and run hot.)
2. Every pool pump, cleaner pump and filter have plugs located at the lowest point (some will have 2) These are winterizing plugs designed to get all of the water out of them. Remove them so water can drain out.
3. All valves should be opened so that the water can equalize with the pool level. This will keep the water in the plumbing below ground which will leave no water to freeze in the equipment or the plumbing above ground.
4. Turn the breaker to the equipment off. If the electricity turns back on and the plugs are removed from the pump it could cause the pump to run dry or leak.
Stay warm everyone!🧥

🥶🌡🧥With freezing temperatures this week make sure all of your pool equipment is running to prevent pipes from freezing and damaged to equipment.
If you have a smart system that's operating properly, everything will turn on once the temperatures drop.
If your on a manual switch or dial timer, pull the timer pins to make sure your equipment is running 24/7 until the temperatures pick back up.
Stay warm everyone 🥶🧥🌡
