Pye Elementary school is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by ensuring that “college and career readiness begins at elementary”. We are located in the heart of one of the fastest growing districts in South Carolina. We serve a diverse population of 856 students enrolled in our 4-K through 5th grade. Our staffing is consistent in response to increasing enrollment with a current total of 110 instructional and support. All instructional staff meet the qualifications for certification as highly qualified teachers. At JPES, we stand on a promise to provide all children with high quality curriculum, planning, teachers, instruction, learning, and time in every classroom, for every child, on every day. We accept the charge to acknowledge the needs of a new culture of digital learners and prepare them as 21st century learners to become 21st century leaders with the 4C’s skillsets (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity). We are a STEAM-minded school that promotes integration of the arts and sciences through writing across the curriculum. We are proud of our accomplishments of earning the national designation as a P21 Exemplar School by the Partners in 21st Century Learning as well as being named a Palmetto’s Finest school.

From our ℂ𝕠𝕒𝕥𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕄𝕒𝕟𝕪 ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕤 and books that took us places to country tales, sparkling confidence, and future careers, our Explorers spent the week celebrating the legacy of Dolly Parton through reading, dreaming, kindness, creativity, and plenty of fun! 💖🤠⭐
𝕎𝕖 𝕗𝕚𝕟𝕚𝕤𝕙𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕜 𝕎𝕠𝕣𝕜𝕚𝕟’ 𝟡 𝕥𝕠 𝟝 𝕠𝕟 𝟡/𝟚𝟝 with career attire, a schoolwide “9 to 5” dance break, reading time, and a special ℙ𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝔻𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕊𝕟𝕒𝕔𝕜 𝕊𝕙𝕒𝕔𝕜 surprise for our hardworking Staffulty! 🎶📖🥤🍿

We’re excited to celebrate our 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 — 𝗠𝘀. 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘇, 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗢𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲! 🎉👏
This year, we’re honoring the legacy of our school’s namesake through the “𝗜 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗜𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝗲’𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝘆” 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, recognizing Staffulty whose 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧, 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗬 reflect the difference Mr. Joseph R. Pye believed educators could make. ❤️💙
Our yearlong celebration kicked off in an especially meaningful way as Mr. Pye’s son joined us and shared that, of all the roles his father held throughout his life, 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿. 🍎 He reminded us that no matter the capacity in which we serve, 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀.

Our 2nd grade students put their geography knowledge and creativity to work as they designed 3D models of South Carolina! 🌎
Working collaboratively, students represented the 6 geographic regions of South Carolina, including important landforms and bodies of water. They transformed their 2D maps into 3D models complete with labels, geographic features, and details unique to each region.
We loved seeing our young geographers collaborate, create, problem-solve, and bring South Carolina to life! 💙🌿

🐾📚 Meet Grace! 💙
Today we had a special meet-and-greet with Grace, our new therapy dog, and her handler, Ms. Cindy! Grace is registered through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and will be visiting our campus every other week in the library.
Mrs. Rollison is excited to bring Grace to the library and share all the joy, comfort, and smiles she’ll bring to our students and staff. 🐶❤️ We can’t wait for our students to meet her!

Our JPES Library Book Club students spend their lunch together reading, sharing, laughing, and talking about great books!
There’s something special about gathering around the table, sharing lunch, and experiencing a great story together. 📖✨ We love seeing our students connect over books and simply enjoy the joy of reading!

🎬✨ MEET OUR FIRST NEWS CREW ROTATION! ✨🎬
Our brand-new news crew officially kicked off this week, and they came in READY TO ROCK ‘N’ ROLL! 🎥🎤🎉
We have an amazing group of 28 students who will work in rotations throughout the year, and this crew is the FIRST rotation to take the stage! ⭐️
They jumped right in, ready to learn, create, collaborate, and bring their energy and creativity to our daily news. We are already so proud of the enthusiasm and hard work they’re bringing to the team! ❤️💙
Ms. Rollison and Ms. Thaxton are so excited to work with ALL 28 of our news crew members throughout the year. We have so much fun helping our Explorers learn the ins and outs of putting on a show, and we can’t wait to see each student find their role and shine! 🌟
