Ladera Ranch Wagsdale Dog Park

If anyone lost their Car Keys at Wagsdale, these were found and are in the left basket by the drinking fountain.

Cross-posting this as it breaks my heart that people take dog-ownership so lightly. This poor lab has been with her family for 7 years and now the family decides they can't make the time to care for her? Sorry, I don't feel bad for the family, I feel bad for the dog. How difficult is it to give a loved one meds every 12-hours, really? She deserves a better family for sure! She even looks sad! You'll have to join this Facebook Group I think to reach this person, or maybe you can use Messenger to reach her directly.

** Temporary Park Closure on Friday, August 9th (morning until about 2/3pm) **

Hi all, LARMAC will need to temporarily close the Large Dog Park Friday morning to do some construction to the Circular Benches surrounding the trees. We had a dog get a severe gash to her torso requiring numerious stitches when she crawled under the benches. To keep the dogs from digging and running in and out from under the benches, LARMAC is going to close off the bottom portion of the benches. Please do NOT encourage your dogs to dig under these boards. If they do, LARMAC will be forced to remove the benches completely which I’m sure none of us want that to happen. Please stop any dogs from digging in ALL areas of the Park. Holes dug by dogs can cause other dogs (and people) to accidentally step into them and injure their CCL or worse, so please, if you don’t let your dog dig in your backyard, please don’t let them dig in our community areas.

A reminder about the dangers of Foxtails to dogs.

Foxtails: Beware of this threat to pets right now Foxtail grass seeds burrow into pets' nose, gums, ears and more, leading to painful and expensive remedies or even death. They're out in full force right now.

Pic just for attention but while walking the perimeter tonight for some steps I picked up 8 extra piles of 💩💩 that had clearly been fresh from today. Let’s please pay attention to our dogs “deposits” and if you leave the park without seeing your dog do their business you know you probably missed seeing it happen so please go pick up another pile that someone else missed! Let’s work together to keep our park clean and our dogs healthy!!

Hi Neighbors - Just passing on a warning about older Pool Passes. I found out this weekend that those of us with OLDER Security Passes, LARMAC is either de-activating them, or they are randomally stopping working at specific locations. They said Wagsdale and some of the pool locks? I've used both my passes successfully for years as I'm at the Dog Park almost every day, and thankfully figured this out the night before going to the Pool on Saturday!
I've always had 2 passes with my name and photo. LARMAC told me they won't issue 2 in my name anymore, and if I have my child's name on the pass then they want to charge me another $20 to replace it even though in our CC&R's it states we are allowed 2 passes free of charge per household. I'm addressing this issue with them, but just a heads up that if you're planning a Pool or Dog Park Visit and your Pass doesn't work, you'll probably need to go get a new one. I don't know if this is a way for LARMAC to make some quick $$ issusing new passes and charging another $20 for a replacement or what. They gave me the 1st replacement free but said they would charge for any other replacements!! I’m contesting that because it's not our fault that they've bought new equipment that is not campatible with our old Passes!

Just a reminder that Ladera Ranch Wagsdale Dog Park is closed for some Annual Maintenance until Tuesday, April 23rd after the normal weekly closure ends at 3PM.

Update on the SMALL DOG PARK. LARMAC has confirmed they will close the Small Dog side of the park from Monday, Sept. 11 to Tuesday, Sept. 26 and reopen at 3pm on 9/26.

They will be repairing and replacing turf and are looking into adding a tree for additional shade as that has been mentioned to me along with additional poo waste bag dispensers and receptacles.

GREAT NEWS!!! The Large Dog Park side is now back open and looks beautiful! Grass is extra long right now to help it stay healthy while the summer sun is still hot...so please be EXTRA diligent about WATCHING your dogs to pick-up after their "deposits" so no one, and no dogs end up stepping in them!!!

While the park was closed LARMAC installed a very cute "around the tree" seating area which will be nice to sit on and set your bag on.

Work will begin on the Small Dog side soon...Sorry I didn't take photos yesterday, I will tonight and will update this post.

Just a reminder that the LARGE DOG side of Ladera Ranch Wagsdale Dog Park will be closed for re-sodding an aeration for 2 week from Monday, July 31 to Thursday, August 10th.
