Though monument sales is part of the business, another great part of our business is restoration work. We pride ourselves on giving the best possible product to restore stones to a period correct state.

This obelisk was restored in Vine Hills cemetery in Plymouth, MA. The top piece of this obelisk had fallen over and broke in half and over the course of time and exposure to nature, collected lots of mold and biological growth.

Our restoration team got right to work and cleaned the stone and reset its base to level with stone dust. Next, each tier was built from bottom and secured in place using carbon fiber pins and industrial grade epoxy. The top piece of the obelisk was also repaired using carbon fiber pins and epoxy. Once repair we used HRM mortar to fill and larger voids left behind. For a final touch, a cosmetic white travfill mortar was placed over the cracks and lightly sanded down.

Now this obelisk is standing tall and proud as it once was when it was first erected!

Here's another stone the boys restored in Centre Cemetery in Marshfield! Bela Lewis was first found with the top of the stone missing, the pieces were found below grade. After some cleaning, carbon fiber pins, epoxy, Portland cement in the base, and some travfill and Bela is good as new!

If you couldn't guess, this is the memorial site to all our soldiers who fought in the Civil War in Vine Hills/Oak Grove! Restored by yours truly, Colonial Stone! How many of you have passed by this line-up of Civil War veterans gravestones?

To put the cherry on top we charged the Town of Plymouth $0 for the entire project!

Next time you walk by, check out our work and pay your respects to those who have fought for our freedoms today!

I know some of you have seen our work in Marshfield, but here's some pictures from the Burial Ground in Braintree, MA dating back to 1713!

Needless to say these stones needed some serious help! Their names and dates were almost wiped from existence :(

Luckily, The men from Colonial Stone came in and restored these precious stones almost to the state of infancy it once used to be!

Wanna know how we did it? Send us a message and we'd be glad to tell you!

This is the Eaton tomb in Brockton, MA! We also restore tombs! This one needed:

-A very solid cleaning (however, bad neglect will permanently stain stones including black mold and rust)
-replace all mortar (remove old mortar and re-grout)
-oddly enough and unfortunately, some one used their truck to rip off the old bronze door, stole, and scrapped it...so we replaced the door with a granite slab with everyone's name and dates. Seeing as how no more family members were going to be buried in this tomb, it was proper to use this beautiful piece of granite as a seal.

Do you need a family tomb to be cleaned and maintenanced? Well you know who to call! (Not the ghostbusters)
