Playing with creative ways of preserving the feeling of fall. I sketched & watercolored the acorns, caps & leaves, preserved the leaves by pressing them in a thin layer of melted wax, and now I’m experimenting with cyanotypes, or printing with the sun. 💙📷☀️

🍃First, in a dark room I arrange the leaves on paper coated in a photo sensitive solution.
🍁Second, I take it outside and set it in direct sun for 2 minutes.
🍂Third, I take the paper back to the dark room, remove the leaves, and wash the coating off with cold water and lay flat to dry.
The colors will continue to darken as it dries.

To spread the joy, I’ll send one of these prints to the first 3 people who comment their favorite month in Fall! 💌

Prepping a few paintings for exhibition today — this one will be shipped off to for my first ever exhibition in NorCal! It just got a new frame and a coat of varnish, and will be on view Sept 17 - Dec 14 at Saint Mary’s College Museum of Art in their forthcoming exhibition “Echoes of Yosemite”, a combination of historic works from their collection of William Keith paintings, as well as contemporary works by members of

This painting means a lot to me because the inspiration for it comes from one of my visits to at while I was acting in a play . It began as a little watercolor study, and inspired me to explore the inspiration further as a fully realized oil painting, and now it gets to go be a part of this incredible exhibition to pass along joy, creativity, and love for nature to those who visit!

Meet the Artist

I have been in love with art of all forms since I remember. I began performing when I was four, and wasn't much older when I set up a face painting booth at my parents' orchard and charged 25 cents to paint apples and Twins logos on customers' faces. My work is often inspired by high fashion and entertainment, and I use art as a tool to help inform my work in front of the camera. My art has been described by artist Maria Tomasula as "post-ironic fantasatical hyperreaism." I trained at The University of Notre Dame and received my B.A. in studio art and performing arts. If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be inside a Monet painting. Until that day, I work and live in Los Angeles.

I was born to create. Some particular areas where I feel inspired are depicting the human form in oil paint or fashion illustration, and making impressions in paper with vintage letterpress. There's something about the buttery consistency of oil paint breathing life into a blank panel, and the kiss of lead type to cotton paper that make my heart flutter.

Thank you for visiting my page.

Contact me if there's a particular project you'd like me to bring to life.
