- [ ] There's just something about conventions that get me totally charged up about how rad my job is! I mean, as an artist, I delve into a lot of different types of medium including but not limited to: logo design, calligraphy, painting, pastels, sketching, murals, I play the bass, guitar, ukulele and banjo...I've animated cartoons, painted cars, designed stage sets, T-shirts, stickers...I've done portraits and caricatures too. Even back when i was growing up and went to the Jersey shore (where the sand was perfect for it) I would spend most of my time during beach visits creating sand sculptures...
- [ ] But TATTOOING!!! TATTOOING IS THE BEST!!! I've never been more satisfied with what it is I do for a living. After a 5 day work week, of course I look forward to having that "weekend". But I start to go a little stir crazy by the end of that second day...just CRAVING tattooing! These conventions are full of like-minded, creative people pushing all their ideas out there for public consumption and I'm like a giant, ginger sponge there to soak it all up. My brain is full, my creativity is charged, no sign of depression or anxiety thanks to all the gypsy tattooer friends I've made traveling the country and the camaraderie that exists between all tattooers. A gaggle of new clients are clamoring for the available dates I have left this year across the country. Even made some new friends, priceless connections and found some new products to try!
- [ ] I'm flying home to Key West, FL today after enjoying a few hours in the Baltimore Harbor area, and I have the luck of having the day off tomorrow to enjoy my beautiful little island home (another big influence on my creativity) and I cant wait to swing in a hammock on the beach and enjoy all the activity that will be surging through my brain!!! Whoever is booked with me 2pm on Wednesday when I return to work at Paradise Tattoo will get to see me in my purest creative form, fully energized and ready to take my tattooing to the next level!
