We are wishing a huge congratulations to ketteringpolicedepartment Dispatcher Stephanie Hall on being selected as a member of the Ohio Telecommunicator Emergency Response Task Force (TERT)!

TERT is a highly specialized team of emergency communications professionals who can be deployed to assist communities when local dispatch centers are overwhelmed by critical incidents, natural disasters, or other emergencies. These telecommunicators provide vital support to ensure emergency calls continue to be answered and first responders remain connected when communities need them most.

Selection to Ohio TERT is a significant achievement and reflects Stephanie’s professionalism, expertise, and commitment to public safety. As a member of the team, she will have the opportunity to assist agencies across the state during times of crisis while bringing valuable training and experience back to our own communications center.

Please join us in congratulating her on this outstanding accomplishment!

🚨 Share the Road—Know the Facts! 🏍️🚗

Motorcyclists face serious risks on the road—and many of those risks come from drivers who aren't paying attention. Here's what you need to know:

🔹 Drivers Are Often at Fault
State and national data consistently show that motorists are responsible for over half of all multi-vehicle crashes involving motorcycles. And per mile traveled, motorcyclists are 27 times more likely to die in a crash than those in passenger vehicles—and 5 times more likely to be injured.

🔹 Driver Distraction is Rampant
According to NHTSA-funded research, passenger vehicle drivers are distracted more than 50% of the time they’re on the road. That’s a danger to everyone—especially motorcyclists.

🔹 Blind Spots Can Be Deadly
Roughly 40% of a vehicle’s perimeter is hidden by blind spots. Failing to properly adjust or use mirrors—especially side-view mirrors—puts smaller vehicles like motorcycles at serious risk.

👀 Check your mirrors. Eliminate distractions. Respect motorcyclists.
It could save a life.

Summer Driving Tips! Driving can be hard on the eyes, period. But during summer months, when the sun is out in full force, there’s also an increased amount of sun glare coming off the road and other vehicles.

This can be particularly dangerous during the early morning and late evening, so invest in a good pair of polarized sunglasses. They’ll help protect your eyes from fatigue and damage, cut down on glare and make it easier to see clearly.
