To everyone who has supported the Task Force this year:
We would like to thank you for continuing to honor the legacy of May 4th in these troubling times. The things we’ve achieved this year with the help of our community ensure the Task Force will never fade. At yesterday’s commemoration, students, alumni, and others united to remember the lives lost on May 4th 1970. We thank you for attending and hope to see you next year. Long live the spirit of Kent and Jackson State ☮️
Sincerely, the May 4th Task Force

On May 1st, 1970 students gathered at the victory bell to protest Nixon’s invasion of Cambodia. Students buried a copy of the Constitution saying that the Constitution was dead due to Nixon, acting without congressional approval. SDS members called for a strike and a protest was planed for May 1st.
Today, students and workers across the country are on strike for Mayday. They are standing up for workers’ rights freedom of education, and immigrant rights, and standing agenst pointless wars and government overreach.
The May 4th task force will be with the Ohio student. Association on the K from 2 to 4.
Long live the spirit of Kent and Jackson state!
