Hello everyone! I am super excited to share this with you!
Starting on June 3rd, I will be holding weekly planning sessions for ADHDers who need external support/motivation in order to be more consistent with planning their week intentionally.
There is no camera and mic participation needed during the meeting.

Please share away! Pregnancy loss group therapy starting November 27. We will meet remotely on Monday evenings for a 2-hr session, for a total of 12 weeks. The focus of this group is to process, heal, and integrate mind, body, and spirit in community with others going through similar experiences. Participants are expected to join for the entire duration (12 weeks) and the cost is $200 per session. Some sliding scale spots are still available.

For people who experienced ongoing trauma during childhood, being confronted with the impact of someone’s mistakes (even when that person recognizes the error and wants to repair) can trigger the fight response.
There is information in that response. It signals there are unmet needs that are essential. Those things definitely need to be addressed but the most important thing is your well-being, and that internal response is so extreme that experiencing it over and over again can literally make people sick.
If you find yourself in a situation like this, try remembering before addressing anything that you are deserving of well-being and health.
What would help your body come down from that response? A walk? Exercise? Angry journaling? A crying session? Allowing yourself some time to process and release the emotions is more important than any problem solving you want to do. In fact, and no surprise here, we are better at reasoning when we are regulated, or not feeling under threat.
Once you feel like you are no longer in fight mode, you can figure out your next step.

If right now taking care of yourself feels impossible, just start with something small like drinking a glass of water. It is a HUGE thing whenever you find the energy and capacity to do anything for yourself (especially if that has been particularly difficult for you) please honor those wins. Sometimes that is a much as people can do to express self-love, and sometimes that is enough.

Friendly reminder that we never know what someone is going through. In Spanish we say: caras vemos, corazones no sabemos which means we can see the face but we don’t know about the heart.
