Congrats 2024 STP 🎓

I’ve been in full out Summer mode. I wanted to get a few up my STP grads. I always feel at home here. I love watching another year graduate. I hope St. Peter’s church serves them as a home as well. I know they are ready to break free but know that it’s always there for them. Some moments from St Peter’s 8th grade graduation 2024.

A couple sneaks of my cousin Zoey (once removed-if that is correct terminology). I love heading back to NEKS and memories of the area go way back. Athletic and beautiful (what do expect- she’s related to me 🤣) I will post more as we go forward so many - class of 2025 here you come!!!

And that is a wrap, St. Teresa’s Academy Class of 2024 has been celebrated. These girls worked hard and are all Stars in their own right. I love that I get to witness this passing of the torch and it seams like history is being made. As always, congratulations.

I have been helping take photos of some the dogs that come through Kansas City Pet Project for the last couple months. Every week there are new admits and its easy to assume that because some are unwanted or may have been neglected/mistreated that these dogs would be jaded or hard to work with. This is so untrue. So many are just looking for someone to love them. Its like therapy to watch them curl up to the volunteers that walk and help. Here are just a few to check out, I’m telling you if you have any inclination, there are so many sweet dogs that would bring so much joy to check out. FEE WAIVE WEDNESDAY

Before this gram feed becomes a old women pining about time. Class of 2024 I”m not done with you yet! I will just take a second and show some images of Reese, senior from Blue Valley North. Headed to KSU. I love hearing what the kids like and he immediately saw the oil tankers down in the West Bottoms. I would not have noticed that and look how cool it is? It is so fun to again work with other peoples tastes and try and nail that. So much of this about listening not just the artistry. Good job Reese and congrats graduate!

I was out of pocket on an epic road trip with harmonious Harmons. Look for more to come- I know so many of you were wondering where I was 😂

I just love this photo. It reminds me of a Monet painting. I feel like it exudes the excitement of graduation with feeling and not accuracy. It is that time- I love/hate May. Such an exciting time but way too busy. To all the grads of all levels take a moment and take it all in- it’s a reminder of how fast time goes.

If our marriage was a kid we would be able to legally have a drink- I think we both need a stiff drink- thanks for all the ups and downs of this life- (don’t look too much into the choice of song—-no cheating here)😂

We are heading into the end of the year very fast. May is such a whirlwind. Does anyone else feel like its just go go go. There is so much to do and celebrate, I sometimes wonder if I didn’t take pictures if I would/could remember year to year. I think with social media and our digital world it is hard to sit and contemplate the time we have and these memories—I remember as a girl sitting down and pouring over my mom’s photos albums. Taking the time to think about why we are documenting this stuff and not just knowing they are on our phone for someday. Before I sound too old, I will circle back to Joe, graduate of Bonner Springs HIgh class of 2024. I did him as a chubby little baby in my studio on Strawberry Hill and I see the print of him in his parents arms in my minds eye. One day your changing diapers the next you are watching them drive off. Joe savor these moments of youth. They will probably come with indecision and uncertainty but relish every second as it is a season, and seasons change.

I’ve done a bunch of boys senior pictures here lately. It doesn’t matter when you get them done, just get them done. Parker came in as a baby and well you know what I always say, time flies. I love that Parker is so into trains and already working on locomotives. I love his ol truck, like a album cover. He is putting highschool in the rearview mirror and the open road is ahead.

Spring means First Communion!!!!! Photos for STP First Communicants make me proud and keep me young, so many moments. PEACE!

And congrats on signing for soccer with Rhodes college Lina. The Sunnis shining on you.

I am a memory hoarder and in the right profession. But we all move in a fast pace and with phone cameras. I have decision fatigue most of the time. Everything can’t be remembered. So ihighschoolnt to take the time to take photos so you can reflect back. Time moves ever more quickly. But if you do you will own that moment. Freddy you are a cutie it was only a second ago I was doing your brothers senior photos. Now its your time. It sounds cheesy but I know in 20 years you will look back and remember (maybe not every moment) but the feeling of your last year of highschool and that makes me happy.

You will recognize this girl. Its so hard to believe that Aneliese’s is a senior. I remember watching her as a baby. I have so many many photos of this girl growing up. I know its bittersweet to see these kids spread their wings. I know its hard for these kids to grow up. I know that there are so many new decisions and roads to take that while exciting can be overwhelming. Look at this adventure squarely in the eye. You got this girl- fly little angel (swipe left)

My perfect grand niece (I know I know I don't seam that old 😃) she is so beautiful. Happy Easter season.

I can see Ainsley as a little girl standing in front the fountain in Loose Park in a pink sailor type dress with her strawberry blond hair looking at me like who the heck are you? Fast forward to a flower girl coming down the aisle of Vis as her Aunt gets married in a timeless wedding celebration. Or freezing her but off in the West Bottoms trying to get family pictures with rosy cold cheeks. And as a big sister on the steps of the Nelson hugging her siblings and fake laughing. And now look as a senior, still with the gorgeous strawberry blond hair on to the next stage of life. So many memories stamped in my mind. You go girl—to many more.

Beautiful Adelaide is an old college roommate.s daughter, we had lost touch and I had not seen her in years. But in the small world that is KC we reconnected and it was so great to meet her smart and old soul daughter. So weird that I get to meet her only a couple years younger than when we ran around KSU and now fast forward and Adelaide is figuring out her next steps. The legacy continues and not like some of my other seniors I get to see her mother through her now.

The beautiful Mudd family- I always look forward to seeing them.

One week ago. This image was minutes before the shooting off to our left. We thought it was fireworks. I’ve been struggling as to what to say but felt like I should say something. I am embarrassed for our city, I’m so sad for the Lopez-Galvan families and all the victims. I’m disheartened. This parade and celebration of our Chiefs on such a beautiful day in KC was meant to brings us all together. Now a day scarred with trauma. I’m just speechless.
