Four short years. HIghschool goes so fast, swipe left to see Bolchs four short years ago. Time will not slow down as hard as I try to make it.

Maddie was diagnosed with diabetes in her youth. It is part of her but doesn’t define her. Her mom asked if she wanted her Dexcom to show and she said,” I don’t care.”I love it, I admire it. She will not let it slow her down and working through challenges is the sport of life. How do you handle hard things? Because they do come. She is already ahead.

Model.

Photos from SNAP Photography's post 12/04/2023

I haven't seen Henry in a couple years. It is so fun to see the change and the similarities from when they were little. I do remember the best curls as a little guy-- and still--hands down. And he looks like a model in that suit. He is KU bound (his mother is part of the Jayhawk family) whoop whoop! Although I haven't seen him in a bit, one can tell he is one smart cookie. I'm excited to see the next changes/similarites as he starts to fly away little Jay.

and you got to have some family images and some Baska love....

Photos from SNAP Photography's post 11/29/2023

I've loved this child since I saw her helping Will Baska tie his shoes at Children's Garden. Zoey Hrabe is destined for great things I can't wait to see where she goes and what she does. She has this calmness and no drama that I admire so much but she is so intelligent and talented, not to mention a beauty. We did her senior photos and some with her family, who I adore. I can't believe she is a senior. I know I know, I say it all the time, I'm a broken record but like I've mentioned before I want to freeze some of these moments in my memory forever. Swipe left to see what I've kept in my carousel of memories.

Eleanor is a creative soul, just like her mom. She recently started a job at a flower shop and so our locations are spot on. You may recognize her....I have known her since birth...swipe left. Since we are entering the holiday and before we get all holly jolly everything. I want to shout out to all my friends and family (including these here Becks) I couldn't have done this thing without your support and I am not just speaking of just my photography business. I always get reflective around this time of year and truly grateful. I get to do what I love and with all the people I've grown to adore. It is not just about the artwork and image making it is about friendship and memories. I'm grateful I have gotten to see Eleanor grow.

So Brady and Ella share some similar memories growing up in the city. Brady moved out south but still held the city dear. I love that although they are in a lot of the same spots they have their own distinct feel. Its not about my style its about theirs and they each have their own look. This football player was a good sport going from place to place but I hope it brought back some memories from growing up in the heart of KC. As these kids move on and out into the world they will all have a piece of them here. Again, its about the memories....

yes, its a jumping photo. Literally jumping over to Brady's post.

Photos from SNAP Photography's post 11/12/2023

Ella came to me with a friend, Brady. They grew up together close to KC and it was fun adapting the same spots with a slightly different feel. I've talked about this before but I love serendipity and there is always some to find, that speak to my seniors. She loves horses and the city where she ran around growing up. When Ella smiles it is hard not too, she has a light about her. We had a lot of fun running the bottoms like a wild horse/zebra in the city.

Another fall birthday. Sweet sweet 16 for Siobhan. (Monday) HARD TO BELIEVE!!!! Swipe left to see her as a little bean and her bro. I won't go on and on about her it would not be cool, but many memories made with this gorgeous gal.

A quick shout out to Aneliese! 18! (yesterday) So fun to watch you grow. Your as pretty as the fall trees..Always throw leaves no matter how old you get--always. I would be remiss if I didn't recognize all the other special birthdays this week my Aunt Marsha, my SIL Jennifer and another little cutie for tomorrow.

I have to be honest- I was working on the reel thing for like two hours. I’m sure there is an easier way to edit those clips/images. But the message is the same- I’m so happy for Mary and Jonathan who know how to throw a shin dig!

One of my favorite Summer families. And now I get to do Ainsley's senior pictures this weekend (scroll left to see the little peanut 2016 style). Murray's I love seeing you.

Rocco is one of my Children's Garden kids I did photos of years ago. I kept telling his parents I just see his little face in preschool and it is transporting me back in time (previous posts). And now look at what a handsome guy he is. He was so easy and went along with all my ideas. So even though he looks like he is a rock star, he is not a high maintenance dude. I love seeing these kids grow up and I can't wait to see where the world takes Rocco.

If I were to make an outline of my business motto or why I do what I do it’s first and foremost to provoke and keep memories. Remember your kid how you saw them, remember his silly face or the way she looked in certain light—all authentic personal memories. Then I would say secondary is making it creative and beautiful. Important for sure but for my business, personally, it is about looking at a photo and be transported back. This brings me to AI or even some of the editing available and while some of it makes my job really easy there is always going to be a human element to capturing a person’s spirit. I think capturing what was there is paramount to making up a beautiful sky or even some of the artistic choices we have as the creator. I think imperfect is perfect and that often includes a hair out of place, a bandaid on the knee or a serious face. It means getting people to feel comfortable and then seeing where the day leads us. So that years down the road you look back at that image and feel like you were there. I know seniors have a lot to look forward to and Hadley is no exception. I don’t know if she has solidified her plans (these were awhile ago) but I will remember the way wild flowers looked in her hair and how her dress spun on a warm early fall day. I hope she remembers how beautiful she was. AI be damned.
