Morning vibe check at Blowing Rocks
Nothing really beats riding out and getting to shoot some photos with good friends and fellow artists. Walking around, sharing ideas, and having fun snapping a few heaters to fill that creative cup. Pure vibes
Community is everything in this craft. There’s a huge emphasis on the individual side but having other people doing it too, that understand and can see the vision is so essential to growing and bettering the journey.
Summer is rolling in and since I haven’t been able to run amuck as I’d like to I thought these photos might bring some of that summer energy your way. Enjoy 🙌🏾

“I don’t have anywhere to shoot”
One of the thoughts that come up fairly often is the notion that we don’t have anywhere to shoot or where we have is too boring. I myself am guilty of this.
Reality is that anywhere, no matter how ordinary it may seem can be interesting with the right bit of framing. I don’t simply mean composition but how you look and decide to capture what’s around you.
In the case of this small set I decided to take a vintage lens I had adapted to my R6 and capture the trail behind my place. The lens itself shapes an interesting look and me focusing on the greenery gave me colour. Sure these aren’t world stopping images, but they never needed to be. They document not just a nice day walking but my experimentation and that’s interesting.
Next time you are out, pick a color, or see how you can frame what’s around you differently, what’s been boring to you can be interesting to someone else. All it takes is a little perspective and creativity 👌🏾

Can you feel it? Summer is coming ☀️🌊
Between the warmer days and getting out in the water I’m not sure what to be stoked for more. Hot as it may be, it’s a season I love.
If I can use this post as a little update point, I’m still figuring a lot out. Trying to create this visual journal while sharing my perspectives on making in this craft has been a challenging yet fulfilling task. Letting you all a bit more into my world feels good and I’m finding my visual language. Still got rolls of film to finish and more to share so please wish me luck as I carry on 🙏🏾

Exploring portraits has always been an interest of mine. We are all intrinsically complex, in not just our personalities, but our perceptions of the world around us. We are all characters writing our own stories through our existence and much like a movie or story book character that’s beautifully fascinating.
Through portraits we capture the essence of being as well as character. We can show emotion, experience, and expression all through a single frame.
It’s also for me a great way to incorporate my interests. An example is with my love of anime, going to conventions grants me a means of practicing portraits while capturing various characters from the very anime that I love or inspire me. We call that a win win 😮💨👌🏾
Do you enjoy taking portraits? What’s a bucket list portrait photo you’d love to capture? Yap with me about it in the comments 🙌🏾

Earth, I may not have explored you as much as many, but you have shown me beauty unlike any other. From skies of gold, to the boundless sea, to still nature bathed in green you remind us that on this blue marble we call home there is so much more to see.
I hope to see more of you as I journey through life with a camera by my side. Til then let these stills show some of my appreciation 🫶🏾🌎

A Walk In The Park
At a time where life feels its most hectic and photo trips have slowed down, it’s nice to get outside and capture a few frames somewhere peaceful. During the filming of the mini doc video we went to Tree Tops park and I snapped a few photos. It was a bit therapeutic if I’m honest.
What I love most about these photos is the calmness they represent. The peace you can find in each shot. The park was empty, quiet, and still. It was in that stillness that quiet beauty of nature could shine.
I’d like to say thanks to all of you who watched the video and shared some kind words. It means a ton to me to have a bit of my story out there. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out here or through the link in my bio.
Captured with R6 + 50mm 1.8 combo.
New Quest Unlocked! 📸🎞️
Today (well yesterday if you saw my story) is the beginning of my journey into film photography. I’m very excited to explore and embrace the more analogue magic of the craft.
How fitting that just like my R6 was my first digital camera, that my first film camera would be a Canon AE-1 🤙🏾
If you have any tips, advice, or just useful information send it my way. I am a sponge trying to soak up all the info I can 😂🙌🏾
A very big special and heartfelt thanks to the legend .burdak.creative for sending this my way. I’m beyond stoked

Just the essentials 👌🏾
For me, the simpler the kit can be the better. Naturally it doesn’t always work out that way but it’s always nice getting back to the essentials.
Right now that’s looking like my R6 on a red camera strap from and this dope Archivist bag from . Pair that up with a notebook and some chucks and we are good to go 🤙🏾
What’s your daily setup look like? What’s the kit you try to always have on you. Would love some ideas

Forever in the window seat ✈️
Took some little snaps while thousands of miles up in the sky. It’s always crazy looking out the window and seeing above the clouds. Nothing but infinite sky reminding me how small some things really are. Yes I recorded me getting the shot because why not 😂
Now the real question. Who else tried to snag the window seat on a flight? Where my people at 😂

Life works in mysterious ways
Somehow the universe decided that a legally blind guy, born with X-linked juvenile Retinoschisis would pick up a camera and fall in love with the art of photography. A craft I never really had an interest in.
Through that very craft it would come to be where I’d find two things I’d been missing. Those being self expression, and an acceptance of myself and my identity. Things I’ve struggled with greatly.
Now I can only hope that through my work I can move others to express themselves through photography and offer an escape to others into my vision of the world through my art and perspective.
Again, life truly works in mysterious ways. You can find a nice quote on how to view chasing your passion on the last frame
Cheers everyone. Hope this little moment of self reflective thought finds you well.

Wanderers of the Glades
Exploring raw Florida scenes and chasing light with just to feel something again.
I still remember the light and the way it just wrapped wherever we went. It gave everywhere we looked a bit of that “sauce” that just took it over the edge.
These photos came from a need to get out and just wander. Not just with our own two legs but with our creativity and vision. In that quiet path less traveled bathed in light, we grabbed a bit of inspiration and sent it.
Get out there and make something that gets you stoked to make more things. Come back and thank me later haha
