Day 3 Water Training ~ sun today but wind still making things challenging on the water.

Day 2 Water Training Seminar with Janet and Darcy of North Alabama Search Dog Association
Auke Bay today. Squalls and cold wind kept things interesting between wee bouts of sun and plenty marine activity with Harbor Porpoise and Seals and Pacific Loons and Scoters and Arctic Terns and Bald Eagles.
Canine teams’ primary focus today was practicing patience with longer problems in more negative space. Handlers work on reading and shaping their dogs’ behaviors and their own timing for mark and reward.

Kicked off our Water Search Seminar today with teams from Sitka and Wrangell joining us for excellent training
with Darcy and Janet from North Alabama Search Dog Association
Wind and white caps made it challenging… giving us real world search conditions.

K9 teams training for Human Remains Detection

Congratulations to Teams Minto & Georgie who passed obedience levels 2 & 1 respectively. Well done to both teams!

K9 Tango’s watch has ended. She was a faithful and ready partner, answering the call at any hour.
She was a patient and gentle soul all the way to her last day.
She taught us a ton during the twelve years we were blessed with her. She was SEADOGS’ trailblazer and first to certify in Scent-specific Trailing.
She was a very GOOD dog! And now a “Free dog!” 🐾🐾💔
