Last of my photos from our day in Yellowstone. The Rocky Mountain Elk…did you know there’s 4 sub-species of elk in North America? Tule, Manitoban, and Roosevelt. They make the funniest sounds😆
Didn’t get to see any moose, bears or wolves on this trip😌maybe next time…

The Great Grey Owl🦉fun little story to go along with this one🤓

Driving through and happened to look over and see about a dozen photographers spread out in an enclosed field, so we whipped the car around and found a spot to park. When I got to the field I quietly stood back and looked around for about 3min, unable to figure out what everyone was looking at.🧐Finally creeped up behind a couple guys that were quietly talking amongst themselves and asked😬he chuckled and said there’s an owl over on that log, and gave me and my gear a dismissive look. I knew something looked off when I was looking over there earlier, but was too far away to see. Of course there was fresh powder❄️in the field and my boots made a *crunch crunch* as I slowly made my way closer to front line of photographers. Everyone slowly turned and looked at me indicating my steps were too loud and that I was going to be murdered by the enthralled hoard of bird nerds if I scared off this owl🥴I eventually made my way and was able to get some great shots😅Little did I know at the time that this was an incredibly rare sighting of the worlds largest owl🤯definitely mean muggin’😂

Big boi-son🦬🤯from a distance they don’t seem much bigger than a cow…but up close…almost the size of our SUV, which I was sticking out of the sunroof to get the close up shots😂😬

We’ve officially been here a week, and are finally starting to feel settled in. Which is great because whale watching season up here officially starts tomorrow🙌🐋🛳️
