American Ramp Company

We talk a lot about progression, but what does that look like when you’re designing for riders who are ready to go BIG?

Check out Sapwi Bike Park in Thousand Oaks, California.

Designed and built by our Action Sports Construction team, Sapwi is known for having the largest public jump park in the region, giving advanced riders a place to push their skills, take on bigger features, and keep progressing.

Because progression doesn’t stop when riders get good.

Great parks give them a reason to keep coming back for what’s next. 🤙

Food for Thought: Bigger isn’t necessarily better.

When planning a bike park, it can be tempting to focus on acreage, the number of features, or the biggest thing you can build.

But thoughtful progression can be far more important.

A well-designed park gives someone a place to start, then creates a natural path to build skills and confidence. That can mean a bicycle playground or beginner pump track leading into skills features, green and blue riding, jump lines, and eventually advanced experiences.

For parks and recreation departments, it’s about making the most of the space you have and designing for the people who will use it today, while giving them somewhere to progress tomorrow.

The best parks give beginners a reason to come back.

Philly, we’re coming for you.

NRPA 2026 is just a few weeks away, and the American Ramp Company team is getting ready for three days of conversations about what communities are building next.

Have a skatepark in the works? Exploring a bike park or trail system? Thinking about adding a pump track or bicycle playground? Bring us your ideas, your plans, or even the project you’re not quite sure how to get started.

You’ll find us in two places:
