Ladies with gator•
•Time (1910s)•
~Floridian ladies in the early 1900s posing with an alligator. Of course, the alligator is a stuffed one. This is to tag onto my previous post I have done today about the history of alligator hunting.
_
Florida, like many Southern states, is home to more than 1 million alligators. However, with all of these vicious alligators in Florida, car accidents have taken more lives than alligators in the state.

Pvt John G. Winbury hugging his 2-year-old son Robert just before sailing to Hawaii with the 251st Coast Artillery, California National Guard, 1940 Los Angeles, California. US.
The photo renders very little hope for the father and his son, and they seem like they are saying goodbye as if they will never see each other again. However, after doing further research, Private Winbury fought at the attack on Pearl Harbor, survived a number of battles in the Pacific theater, and eventually reunited with his son. The photo conjures a sense of lost hope and grief due to war, but luckily in this case, the outcome was positive. Many people lost family members during the war, and photos like these intended to foreshadow the death and sadness brought about by violence. Jakobsen’s photo did exactly this, which is why it gained so much popularity and recognition in the American media.”

In 1947, King George VI, then Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) and princesses Elizabeth (later the Queen) and Margaret toured South Africa in 1947. It was the princesses’ first trip abroad. While there, Elizabeth turned 21 and delivered a speech where she famously stated, “I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.” Princess Margaret, King George VI and Princess Elizabeth are seen here at Royal Natal National Park in KwaZulu Natal state. On the same trip, Elizabeth looked relaxed and happy as she spent her 21st birthday reading in Royal Natal National Park in South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal state.

Athens acquired this name through the legendary contest between Poseidon and Athena was described by Herodotus, Apollodorus, Ovid, Plutarch, Pausanias and others. It even became the theme of the sculpture on the West pediment of the Parthenon. Both Athena and Poseidon requested to be patrons of the city and to give their name to it, so they competed with one another for the honour, offering the city one gift each. Poseidon produced a spring by striking the ground with his trident, symbolizing naval power.

Athena created the olive tree, symbolizing peace and prosperity. The Athenians, under their ruler Cecrops, accepted the olive tree and named the city after Athena.
