Since then, Marcus has continued to travel and also perform locally in Jacksonville, Florida. To name a few notable events, Marcus performed for the Convoy of Hope, a Superbowl & NFL Sponsored Event. Notably, Marcus was the headliner for the Lincoln Foundation’s 19th Annual Night of Jazz Concert at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, located in Louisville, KY (2014). Notably in July 2016, Marcus performed at the Derby City Jazz Festival in Louisville, Ky, which also featured jazz greats, Jeff Lorber, Mike Phillips, Brian Bromberg, Marion Meadows, Everett Harp, Jeff Bradshaw, Cindy Bradley, Marcus Johnson and The Urban Jazz Coalition, just to name a few. Recently, Marcus performed at the 2018 Jazz in Central Park (Louisville, KY on August 26, 2018) and the Seafood & Jazz Festival in Jacksonville, FL to kick of the inaugural jazz festival on May 25, 2018. Marcus also received encouragement from famed percussionist Sheila E. and saxophonists, Nelson Rangell, Najee, Mike Phillips, his sax mentors: Joe Yorio (Toured with Peabo Bryson) & Mel Holder (Billboard Saxophonist & Sellar Award Finalist), and the late great saxman, George Howard. Marcus released of his new single “Brand New Day”, June 25, 2018, globally and to radio stations across the country, which was written and produced by jazz sensation, International Recording Artist/keyboardist, Jonathan Fritzen, whom also performs on the single. This song will keep you locked in for more of Marcus’s music. It debuted at #1 song, with the most spins during its 1st week in rotation on Billboard Smooth Jazz radio stations across the US. It’s even receiving air play in the UK and charted consecutive weeks on The Smooth Jazz Network Top 100, along with charting on other jazz charts.
