‼️Office of the Fire Chief‼️
Another great week of service, dedication, and teamwork across the Jackson Fire Department!
This week, our personnel continued answering the call when our citizens needed us most, while also investing in professional development through HOT training evolutions that strengthen our skills and readiness for emergency response.
We proudly celebrated the graduation of our JFD Kids Academy participants, recognizing a new group of young leaders who spent time learning about fire safety, teamwork, and public service.
We also had the privilege of honoring Mrs. Wanda Ayers during her retirement celebration, thanking her for 26 years of dedicated service and wishing her nothing but success and happiness in this next chapter of life.
As a department family, we also ask that you keep our team member, Brannard Turner, and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of his son. During times of sorrow, we stand together in support, compassion, and strength.
Thank you to all of our firefighters, civilian employees, community partners, volunteers, and supporters who help make our mission possible every day.
Have a blessed weekend everyone! 🙏🏾

JFD Kids Academy Graduation Day! 🚒🎓
Today, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our JFD Kids Academy campers at The Bean Path! Over the course of the academy, these young leaders learned valuable lessons in fire safety, teamwork, leadership, CPR, and community service while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The day was made even more exciting with engaging STEM activities that challenged campers to think creatively, solve problems, and explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These hands-on experiences helped inspire the next generation of innovators, leaders, and possibly future firefighters!
Congratulations to all of our graduates on a job well done! We are proud of each and every one of you and look forward to seeing all the great things you will accomplish in the future.

If there’s one thing our Kids Academy campers absolutely love, it’s WATER!
The splash pad was the perfect way to cool off, beat the summer heat, and have a blast with friends. From laughter and smiles to friendly water battles, the campers made memories that will last long after summer ends.
The splash pad continues to be one of the campers’ favorite stops each year! 💦

Thank You for Investing in Our Campers this Week!
A special thank you to Jim Pollard of American Medical Response and Corey Wright of the Museum of Natural Science for taking the time to welcome and educate our Kids Academy campers during their visits.
Your willingness to provide informative tours, share your knowledge, and give our campers a behind-the-scenes look at your respective organizations created an unforgettable learning experience. These opportunities help inspire young minds, broaden horizons, and expose our campers to careers and services that make a difference in our community every day.

The Engine 7 crew enjoyed spending time with the students at Children First Christian Learning Center, sharing fire safety lessons, answering questions, and helping educate the next generation about staying safe.
After wrapping up the public relations event, the crew returned to the firehouse and got right back to work. The team conducted blood pressure assessment training with Engine 7’s newest team member, reinforcing the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional service to our citizens.
Whether we’re in the community teaching fire safety or in the station sharpening our skills, Engine 7 remains committed to serving the citizens of Jackson with professionalism and excellence. 🔥
Learning Life-Saving Skills at JFD Kids Academy! ❤️
Today, our Division Fire Chief of Training, Jimmie Epps, taught campers the importance of Hands-Only CPR, giving them a valuable skill that could one day help save a life.
Campers learned to push hard and push fast to the beat of the classic song Stayin’ Alive, which helps maintain the recommended chest compression rate during CPR.🔥
