Everyone was wondering why the Lions didn’t spend on a high priced edge. This is why. If we want to be competitive for a decade (like the chiefs) then we need to pay the players we believe in. Hutch is next.
Breaking: Jameson Williams and the Detroit Lions have agreed to a 3-year extension worth up to $83 million, sources confirmed to Adam Schefter.
The news was first reported by Jordan Schultz.
Still a lot of hand wringing over the Hall of Fame game. MSR wants to lend some perspective that will make you feell a little better about it.
First remember the Hall of Fame game is a full two weeks earlier than the rest of the NFL pre-season. That is zero time to prepare, especially for a team that is breaking in 2 new coordinators.
Second, the first pre-season game is a first look at most of the players in the roster. For many who play in that game it’s the first time they have seen NFL action. For vets, if you are playing in that game you are in the twilight of your career and fighting for a roster spot.
There is absolutely nothing that happens in this game that is a reflection of how the team will look at the end of the season. They are literally knocking the rust off.
This week is different from a player evaluation standpoint point when coaches start to get an indication as to whether or not a player is on the rise or on the way out.
So in short, calm down Lions Fans. Everything is gonna be alright.

ESPN is nearly unwatchable. NFL network offered a better alternative in my opinion. I am sure ESPN will ruin the NFL Network as well.
ESPN to acquire NFL Network in landmark agreement ESPN, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, announced on Tuesday that it will officially acquire the National Football League (NFL) Network in a landmark agreement.

Should be an interesting game this year.
Mark this day, August 2nd, 2025. The all-knowing half of MSR predicts Micah Parsons will be a Detroit Lions.
Lions fans, it’s preseason game one. It’s basically a glorified stretching circle for the starters. The score is not relevant.
It’s going to be an interesting day of transactions for the Tigers today. The acquisitions from yesterday’s trade deadline trade flurry are not on tje active roster yet. Morton and Finnegan are going to be on the active roster today. It will be interesting to see who gets sent down.
Melton and Luke Jackson
are the likely candidates.
Second takeaway from the trade deadline is that most of the AL Central has given up. The Guardians and Twins were sellers and the White Sox already planning their offseason golf trip. Only the Royals are going to shoot for a wildcard.
