MSPHI is excited to announce a new training opportunity for Mississippi Certified Peer Support Specialists interested in strengthening their skills in supporting pregnant and parenting women affected by substance use and perinatal mental health challenges.

Only 75 spots are available!

Selected participants will complete Postpartum Support International’s (PSI) two-day Components of Care virtual training, which provides foundational knowledge and skills for supporting perinatal individuals and families using recovery-oriented, person-centered, trauma-informed, and relationship-focused approaches.

Participants who complete the two-day virtual training will then be eligible to attend the Advanced Training Role-Play Day on March 3, 2027, in Flowood, Mississippi. This in-person training will provide an opportunity to apply concepts from the virtual training through interactive exercises, practice scenarios, and role-play.

Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in additional professional development through the Opioid Response Network (ORN) in April 2027, with training opportunities offered in the North, Central, and South regions of Mississippi.

This training opportunity is part of a broader effort to strengthen Mississippi’s peer-support workforce and improve connections to treatment, recovery, healthcare, and community resources for pregnant and parenting women affected by substance use.

Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee selection. Selected participants will receive additional information regarding training dates, registration, and participation requirements.

We encourage interested Certified Peer Support Specialists to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in perinatal substance use and peer support.
