Shower Power MS

One of the things we love most about Friday Lunch with Friends is that every week looks a little different, but the heart behind it is always the same.

Today, our friends enjoyed a delicious donated lunch from our neighbors at Burgers and Blues and a wonderful group of volunteers who came together to make the afternoon special. Good food, good friends, and good conversation made for a great day around the table.

We would also like to recognize two organizations that have recently gone above and beyond in supporting our mission.

Last month, Repeat Street conducted a collection drive and made a generous donation to Shower Power. Their support helps ensure that we can continue serving our friends with dignity and compassion.
We are also grateful to Wells Church, which recently hosted Operation Shoestring.

Participants assembled hygiene kits that were donated to Shower Power and will help us meet some of the most basic needs of our friends in the weeks ahead.

Every meal served, every hygiene kit assembled, every donation made, and every volunteer hour given helps make this work possible. We are continually humbled by the churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals who choose to invest in our friends and our mission.

Friday Lunch with Friends continues to be one of the highlights of our week at Shower Power.

Each Friday, our soace becomes a place where friends can enjoy a meal, share stories, reconnect with familiar faces, and simply spend time in our community. These moments may seem small, but they are often the moments that remind people they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Today’s lunch was graciously organized by Anna Gordon and sponsored by Circle of Love - Church at Shiloh. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity, servant hearts, and commitment to serving our friends. Because of partners like these, we are able to create a welcoming space where dignity always comes first.

The day was filled with good food, plenty of laughter, and the kind of conversations that remind us why we do this work. While a meal may only last a few minutes, the relationships built around the table can last much longer.

Yesterday was our monthly church service in partnership with our neighbors at Trinity Wesleyan Church. Pastor Tim Burnett came out and shared a life saving message, brought hope to our friends, and the church provided lunch after the service.

Not only did NVENT and Entergy volunteer with us today, but our neighbors at CMAR brought our friends a delicious lunch. The blessings we receive from our community and our neighbors are truly limitless, and our friends had the opportunity today to come enjoy fellowship at Shower Power in Jackson.

Today, our friends enjoyed a delicious lunch today thanks to the Mississippi Apartment Association. Thank you to our neighbors at NVENT, Origin Bank, and Boardwalk Pipelines who came out to volunteer and help us love our friends back to life.

A big thanks to the Salvation Army for handing out hygiene bags.

And, we had a very generous donation and a wonderful visit from a special guest! Miss Metro Jackson, Nataleigh Nix, and her team also volunteered and handed out 50 more hygiene bags.

God shines his light on us everyday, and today, it was especially bright. Our neighbors at Haskell Company brought a huge breakfast of danishes, biscuits, and treats. Both Clinton High School and Amazing Grace shared their love with us through the gift of donations, and the Jackson Free Clinic came out and provided medical services.

While Shower Power offers hygiene services, food, and clothing, community building is at the heart of what we do. A huge thank you goes out to our volunteers and community partners that continue to pour out and help us love our community of friends back to life.
