Jackson Academy

Before summer officially arrived, Jackson Academy's first graders made sure to send it off in style, transforming their classrooms into a campground complete with tent-style desks for the last full week of school. Students carried on with their schoolwork from inside their makeshift tents, blending the routine of the classroom with the spirit of the season in one of the more creative sendoffs the Lower School has seen. Jackson Academy prepares students to succeed not only in the classroom but in every arena life puts in front of them. Here at JA, even the last week of school becomes an adventure worth remembering.

Softball Skills Camp gave rising second through sixth graders a chance to learn the game from the people who know it best, spending the week working through drills and competitive activities alongside current Lady Raider softball players. Equal parts instruction and fun, campers walked away with sharper skills and a few new role models to look up to.

Slam Dunk Boys Basketball Camp brought rising third through seventh graders to the hardwood for a week of skill building, competition, and hoops led by the JA varsity basketball staff alongside current and former Raider players. Campers worked through fundamental training before breaking into age groups for skills competitions and games ranging from one on one all the way to five on five. It was the kind of week that makes players better and leaves them hungry for more.

Dribble and Shoot Girls Basketball Camp is back, led by Lady Raider head coach Henry Gantz. Rising second through seventh graders will spend three days working through the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting before putting their skills to the test in one on one and five on five games, Hot Shot competitions, and Free Throw challenges. It is a tradition at Jackson Academy and the perfect place to begin your journey as a Lady Raider. Camp runs June 15-17 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

What a year it's been at JA! From academic excellence and championship performances to servant leadership and unforgettable memories, we're spending the rest of June celebrating the students, faculty, and families who made this year extraordinary.

I.Heart.Art Camp gave K4 through first grade campers a chance to explore their creative side, diving into new art techniques each day under the guidance of instructor Jackye Barbour. Every session brought something different as campers worked their way through hands-on projects, creating original artwork and discovering just how much they are capable of. It was a week of color, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.

Game on! Rising first through sixth graders, this one is for you. Game On! Sports Camp is four days of action-packed games, movement, and teamwork designed to keep kids active and having a blast from start to finish. Led by Aimee Odom, Ashley Googe, and Thomas Martin, campers of all fitness levels are welcome to come out, get moving, and build confidence along the way. Camp runs June 15-18 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM for 1st-3rd, and 1:00 to 3:00PM for 4th-6th.

Princesses took over Jackson Academy as K3 through first grade campers spent their days dancing to favorite songs, making crafts fit for royalty, and getting the full princess treatment from makeovers to much, much more. It was a magical few days, and the smiles said everything.
