Jackson/Hinds Library System

📚🌟 Jackson Hinds Library System at the Mississippi Book Festival! 🌟📚

We had such a wonderful time at the Mississippi Book Festival on Saturday, September 26, with the internet’s favorite librarian and host of the rebooted Reading Rainbow, Mychal Threets

During the festival, Mychal participated in a moving and insightful panel discussion about the importance of libraries, sharing his personal experiences with libraries, working with young people, and mental health. A passionate library advocate, Mychal encourages people of all ages to visit their libraries and discover welcoming spaces where they can read, connect, participate in activities, and feel right at home. 💙📖

Following the panel, we gave away 300 free copies of Mychal’s new picture book, I’m So Happy You’re Here, illustrated by Lorraine Nam! Festival visitors also stopped by the JHLS Bookmobile to explore everything our library system has to offer. 🚐📚
A huge thank you to Mychal Threets for partnering with the Jackson Hinds Library System at the Mississippi Book Festival and helping us celebrate the joy of books, reading, and libraries!

Learn more about Mychal on his page, and stay tuned for Reading Rainbow on YouTube and PBS KIDS!

📚✨ Now that’s what we call book magic! Catch the JHLS Bookmobile on its next adventure! 🚐📖
