March 5, 2025, Treasure Island Job Corps in San Francisco, CA hosted a successful Community Relations Council meeting and luncheon. The centers was honored to welcome distinguished guests, including representatives from Congresswoman Lateefah Simon office, Senator Adam Schiff office, The Treasure Island Museum, The Treasure Island Community Center, The YMCA, The Department of Rehabilitation, San Francisco Unified School District, Laney College, and many more.

A special highlight of the event was the impressive buffet prepared by the advanced culinary students, who also crafted a delightful dessert table for everyone to enjoy. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the partnerships that make our community stronger.

A huge shoutout and thank you to Mr. Jackson and his incredible students at the Excelsior Springs Job CorpsCampus for their swift work on repairing the concrete at the Café dock! For a while, the food delivery truck drivers had to unload deliveries by hand because their pallet jacks kept getting stuck in the holes. Mr. Jackson and his students did not hesitate to tackled the issue when called upon. They are highly appreciated for the teamwork and quick action!

They also volunteered by making beds, serving meals, and connecting with individuals enjoying a warm meal and safe shelter, thanks to the support of Peace Lutheran Church.
