Congratulations from all of us at JDART!

🚨 Congratulations to Public Safety Officer Ryan Tursich – 2025 Officer of the Year! 🚨

Please join us in congratulating Public Safety Officer Ryan Tursich on being selected as the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety's 2025 Officer of the Year.

Since joining our Department in 2022, Ryan has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to serving our community. His positive attitude, pride in the Department, and eagerness to learn and grow have made him respected among his peers.

Ryan's dedication extends far beyond his daily responsibilities. He has a tremendous passion for the fire service and currently serves as a Fire Inspector for the Department, as well as an Instructor at the Jackson County Fire Academy, where he helps train and mentor the next generation of firefighters and public safety professionals.

Those who work alongside Ryan know that if he is asked to take on a task, he will go above and beyond to ensure it is completed—and completed the right way. His work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence is unmatched.

This award is determined by recommendations from both Ryan's fellow officers and the Department's command staff, making this recognition especially meaningful. We are incredibly proud to have him as a member of our team and grateful for the dedication and passion he brings to Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety.

Congratulations, Ryan, on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for your service, your leadership, and your commitment to excellence. We are proud to call you one of our own! 👏🚔🚒

This is something most of us don't think about. Carbon monoxide can be a risk anywhere.

Are you staying in a hotel, vacation rental, cabin, camper, or spending time near boats this summer? It’s important to remember that carbon monoxide can happen anywhere fuel is burned.

Before you settle in, take a moment to check for working CO alarms. If you are traveling, consider packing a portable CO monitor for added peace of mind.

Stay safe this summer wherever your plans take you.

🇺🇸 What an incredible Memorial Day! JDART members had a fantastic time honoring our nation's heroes today, with both of our units out participating in two different local parades.
We were proud to have one unit in the Napoleon parade and our second unit representing in the Spring Arbor parade!
It was a beautiful, picture-perfect day to come together as a community and pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country. We are deeply grateful.

Stay safe and have a memorable Memorial Day as you gather with family and friends.
