NICU Remembrance Day- a day we remember babies, like our Lela Jo, who never made it home but are waiting for us in Heaven. Sending love to those parents and families that have experienced the unique journey of carrying both deep love and devastating loss. 🤍

Many people will remember their NICU nurse’s name longer than they’ll remember half the people who came to their wedding. There’s a reason for that! These individuals are angels! ❤️ NICU Staff- Thank you for everything you do! A typical/normal day or interaction for you may be a life changing moment for a parent- we remember all the little things that you did to make us feel secure! It may have seemed insignificant to you- but it is something we will never forget. We LOVE you!

It’s that time!!! The NICU Read-A-Thon is here! Books donated by Lela’s Library will be read to so many babies in the next week. Thank you to all who support! Oh the Places these sweet babies will go! The sky truly is the limit! ❤️

September is NICU Awareness Month—a time to recognize the tiny fighters, the families who stand beside them, and the incredible people who care for them.

For NICU parents, the journey can be filled with things no parent ever imagines facing. The fear of the unknown. The long days and even longer nights. Watching your baby connected to machines and wires. Leaving the hospital without your baby. Celebrating tiny milestones while carrying the weight of uncertainty. Learning a language of medical terms you never expected to know.

And yet, in the middle of all that uncertainty, there are people who become a source of comfort and strength. NICU nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, therapists, social workers, and every member of the NICU team—thank you. ❤️

Thank you for caring for our babies as if they were your own.
Thank you for answering the same questions over and over.
Thank you for celebrating the smallest victories with us.
Thank you for holding our babies when we couldn’t.
Thank you for giving parents hope on the hardest days.

The NICU is a place of both heartbreak and hope—a place where tiny lives are fought for every single day.

This month, we remember the families who have walked this journey, honor the babies who fought so hard, and celebrate the incredible NICU staff who make an immeasurable difference.

To every NICU family: you are not alone. 💜
