Please dress comfortably and for the weather—supplies and snacks will be provided, and community service hours are available. Meet us Sunday, January 18 from 2:00–4:30 PM at Freedom Corner. Georgetown Community Neighborhood Association’s first cleanup of the year was a success! Thank you to our neighbors and volunteers from across the city. The next Georgetown Community Cleanup is scheduled for Sunday, January 18, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Georgetown Community Neighborhood Association is happy to announce our upcoming community cleanups and invites you to join us as we work together to beautify our neighborhood by picking up litter on the streets and in common dumping areas. Dress comfortably and for the weather. Supplies and snacks will be provided, and these cleanups also qualify for community service hours.

Cleanup #1 will take place Saturday, January 10 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the lot next to Jasco, with meet-up at 1066 W Woodrow Wilson Ave. Cleanup #2 will be held Sunday, January 18 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, covering the area from Freedom Corner to Lanier, with meet-up at Freedom Corner.

This Tuesday, we're hosting Cookies, Community and Cocoa: Mid City Neighborhood Meeting at the Horace D. Kelly, Sr. Community Center, formerly known as the Yellow House. Brown University’s Noise and the City project is researching environmental comfort in Jackson, looking at how temperature, air quality, noise and personal experiences affect daily life in our neighborhoods.
