More than 30 volunteers filled over 50 bags of trash from Freedom Corner to Lanier Jr. Sr. High School. Thank you to the neighbors, volunteers, Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church, and Greater Pearlie Grove M.B. Church’s Boy Scout Troop 291 for making this our biggest cleanup yet!

Georgetown Community Neighborhood Association’s first cleanup of the year was a success! Thank you to our neighbors and volunteers from across the city. The next Georgetown Community Cleanup is scheduled for Sunday, January 18, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Georgetown Community Neighborhood Association is happy to announce our upcoming community cleanups and invites you to join us as we work together to beautify our neighborhood by picking up litter on the streets and in common dumping areas. Dress comfortably and for the weather. Supplies and snacks will be provided, and these cleanups also qualify for community service hours.

Cleanup #1 will take place Saturday, January 10 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the lot next to Jasco, with meet-up at 1066 W Woodrow Wilson Ave. Cleanup #2 will be held Sunday, January 18 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, covering the area from Freedom Corner to Lanier, with meet-up at Freedom Corner.

This Tuesday, we're hosting Cookies, Community and Cocoa: Mid City Neighborhood Meeting at the Horace D. Kelly, Sr. Community Center, formerly known as the Yellow House. We invite you to join us as we connect with one another, discuss our goals for 2026, and strengthen civic engagement throughout Mid City.
