Kids' bathrooms are one of the most common remodel regrets we see.
Trendy tile, sparkly countertops, tiny fixtures scaled to small children — it all looks charming at seven and dated by seventeen. By the time your kids outgrow it, you're often looking at a full tear-out.
The good news: a few intentional design choices up front can carry a bathroom from toddler years through the teen years and beyond. Think timeless finishes on the permanent elements, and save the personality for the easy-to-swap stuff — paint, towels, accessories.
We wrote up our full recommendations on tile, countertops, cabinets, fixtures, and what to keep vs. replace if you're already facing a remodel. Read it at the link! https://bit.ly/3Rc7TpE

What started as a request to hang a pair of doors turned into a full framing rebuild and a hunt through Seattle's oldest millwork yards to find trim that hadn't been produced in years.
This formal living room-to-home office conversion is a good example of what we mean when we say remodels rarely go exactly as expected. The surprises are almost always worth solving for — and in this case, the result is a space that actually works for how this family lives.
Swipe to see the before, the moment we realized this wasn't a simple door job, our millwork yard adventures, and the finished space.

The hall bath isn't the showstopper room, but it's always a place to add a little extra style. We love how much personality can come through in tile work, hardware, and a well-chosen vanity. A few examples from our project archive.

The right chandelier does more than light a room. It sets the whole tone.
Every home we build or remodel gets lighting that fits the space and the people living in it. From craftsman to contemporary, every home has its own personality, and the fixtures we select are chosen to match it.

A small space, done right. 🧺
This laundry room remodel is proof that square footage isn't everything. The side-by-side washer and dryer were swapped for a stacked configuration, freeing up wall space for custom cabinetry and a countertop with a built-in sink. The result: a hardworking room that feels intentional.

Design decisions start long before any demolition happens.
Kelly visited looking at tile options for the remodel of the upstairs of our own home.
Before beginning a remodel, one of the first questions should be: “is there anything we can keep or continue to use?”
Sometimes the floor tiles are still in great shape, oftentimes the cabinets just need a fresh coat of paint and some new k***s. There are usually some items that can be repurposed.
But in this case, the existing finishes had too much wear, so replacing them made more sense than trying to salvage certain items in the room.
So now we’re choosing new materials that will work long-term and update the spaces:
✔️ New tiles throughout
✔️ White bathroom cabinets
✔️ Fresh paint
✔️ Stylish hardware and light fixtures
Simple, classic choices that fit the style of the house.
We are always looking for tiles that flow from one room to the next, from hall bath to laundry room, to primary bathroom, creating a cohesive feel throughout the home.
One decision leads to the next.
What tile style would you choose for your home remodel?

Kitchen island lighting that changes everything... ✨
It’s never just a light fixture.
In every kitchen we design, island lighting plays a quiet but powerful role — shaping the mood, defining the style, and elevating the entire space.
Swipe through these past projects and you’ll see how different fixtures completely transform the feel of the room:
• Glass globe pendants that feel airy and timeless
• Bell-shaped glass fixtures that soften and warm the space
• Sleek black metal lights in a modern home for bold contrast
• Refined metal pendants in a Craftsman kitchen that honor tradition
• Clean-lined fixtures complementing Northwest Contemporary design
Each one adds personality, while providing the task lighting your island needs for cooking, gathering, and everyday life.
The right fixture doesn’t compete with your cabinetry or countertops, it complements them. Designers carefully consider scale, finish, ceiling height, and sightlines to choose lighting that feels balanced and intentional.
Because rather than being an afterthought, it's part of the architecture of the room.
