Our Story
Company Description: The DFW Connector is being designed and constructed by NorthGate Constructors, a joint venture between Fort Worth-based Kiewit Texas Construction, L.P., and San Antonio-based Zachry Construction Corporation. NorthGate Constructors is an equal opportunity employer.
Project Description: NorthGate Constructors is working in collaboration with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to develop, design and reconstruct over $1 billion worth of improvements as part of the DFW Connector project. The project includes state highways 114, 121 and 360, as well as adjacent roadways north of DFW Airport. This area, which sits near the intersection of the area's four most populous counties, is a vital connection for North Texas business, commercial and recreational interests. Using a design-build process, construction of the 8.4-mile initial phase of the ultimate 14.4-mile project was expedited from 8-10 years to just four years. Since that time, TxDOT and NorthGate have improved additional areas of the DFW Connector project left out of the initial scope due to funding limitations. This includes FM 2499 and the SH 121/360 interchange; the latest construction phase will reconstruct and widen the I-635/SH 121 interchange north of DFW Airport. For more information on the overall DFW Connector project, including lane closure information, visit our website at www.dfwconnector.com.
