I know it is the beginning of the year and everyone is on the weight-loss train, me included! That said, I had to remind myself that while it is ok to indulge a little for the holidays, it is time to return to a healthy lifestyle. Here is something I made to stay focused on my goals, I hope this will be helpful to you as well!

BOUTIQUE — La Fermière 10/09/2024

With no chemical stabilizers, no artificial coloring or flavors, no high-fructose corn syrup, no gelatin, no preservatives, and even gluten-free; La Fermiere is my favorite yogurt to go to. Established in 1952, this Provence company has fed many French kids for generations, me included, and continues to do so worldwide. That said, I mostly buy their plain yogurt because of the sugar content in most flavored ones. I reserve those for a special treat. I generally eat half of my plain yogurt per day to stay within 100 calories for me and benefit from important health benefits such as the conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) that helps the body shed fat. By the way, children's balanced diet needs milk fat for proper brain and body development. Check them out and buy them at your local stores: Gelson, Sprout, Whole Food, Costco, or online

Long sweet potatoes, delicious and can be made like baguette

Certainly! Here’s a recipe for making a sweet potato bread-like snack using the ingredients you mentioned:

### Sweet Potato Baguette-Style Recipe

#### Ingredients:
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or olive oil)
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for a touch of sweetness)

#### Instructions:

1. **Prepare Sweet Potatoes:**
 - Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into chunks.
 - Boil in a pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
 - Drain and let cool slightly.

2. **Mash Sweet Potatoes:**
 - In a bowl, mash the sweet potatoes until smooth. You should have about 1 1/2 cups of mashed sweet potatoes.

3. **Mix Ingredients:**
 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, oil, and honey (if using).
 - Gradually mix in the rice flour until well combined. You should have a thick dough-like consistency.
 - Add salt and any optional spices (cinnamon, nutmeg) if desired, and mix well.

4. **Shape and Bake:**
 - Transfer the dough onto the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a baguette-like loaf. Smooth out the surface with a spatula.
 - Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the loaf is firm to the touch.

5. **Cool and Serve:**
 - Let the loaf cool on a wire rack before slicing. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

This recipe creates a soft, slightly sweet bread with a unique flavor from the sweet potatoes. Feel free to experiment with additional spices or herbs to tailor it to your taste!

Did I say how much I enjoy this group of women! OC Elles Collective Meeting was wonderful, energetic, and unifying. A few were missed and I hope to see all of you soon. This new year has started on very positive compassionate notes. Thank you all for that pleasant morning by the pool. We just left before it got too hot!

When I want to celebrate something special while traveling in France, I often check out the Relais et Chateaux. Never disappointed me all these years. Check out this one "Les Pres d'Eugenie" in the Gascogne region. Its numerous restaurants speak to me, particularly "La Ferme aux Grives" (photo above) and their healthy/slimming cuisine. On the list for my next triphttps://lespresdeugenie.com/en

Enjoy teaching Mel, a teenager, how to prepare healthy meals. First, we started with breakfast. We made oatmeal with cinnamon, nuts, and dried fruits. He had never eaten oatmeal before and was happy to see him and his mother liking it!
