We are proud to announce the completion of a class A conferencing center in San Diego, CA. Our team provided interior architecture and design services to integrate the conference center into an existing three building campus and designed with a strong hospitality-driven approach. The program features a pre-function area that includes a living room–style lounge, a dedicated bar setup and seamless connectivity to an exterior amenity space.

The main function zone consists of three training rooms divided by a collapsible partition, allowing flexible configurations for a variety of group sizes and uses. Throughout the space, the material palette highlights wood, plaster, textural wall coverings and high-end custom millwork, creating a warm, elevated environment.

Meet Marian Morioka, Director, Interior Architecture & Design in our San Francisco office.

With experience ranging from the winery sector and retail banking to corporate workplace interiors and large-scale hospitality environments, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to every project. In her new role, Morioka will be responsible for the leadership, growth, and management of the interior architecture and design studio, prioritizing client satisfaction, project performance, and team mentorship.

Our Denver team was proud to attend the groundbreaking for Hamilton Commerce Center, an exciting new industrial development in the heart of Springville, UT's growing industrial corridor.

We are providing architectural design services for this approximately 192,000 SF warehouse development, which will offer flexible suite configurations, along with outdoor storage and direct access to I-15. Designed to meet the needs of modern industrial users, the project will feature concrete tilt-up construction, 43 dock-high doors, a 32-foot clear height, ESFR sprinklers, and ample parking.

We are honored to be part of a project that will support continued economic growth in the region and look forward to seeing Hamilton Commerce Center take shape ahead of its anticipated completion in May 2027.

We are proud to support the expansion of a globally recognized precision instruments manufacturer’s innovation center in eastern Maryland. Our architecture, interiors, site planning and lab planning teams led the programming and design of a new four-story, ground-up laboratory and office building that will strengthen the manufacturer’s presence in the DMV region. The 144,000 SF facility is designed to showcase innovation in medical and diagnostic technologies, bringing together R&D, training and collaborative workspaces in an integrated environment.

A double height atrium anchors the arrival experience, featuring a sculptural staircase that serves as both a focal point and symbol of connectivity. The design incorporates biophilia and landscape principles, using natural materials, daylight and framed views to create a calm, human centered workplace. Sustainable strategies including bioswales, rain gardens and permeable paving along with outdoor amenities enhance both performance and user experience. This project is currently in design.

Designed by our Atlanta team as both a regional hub and a forward-looking prototype, this Miami workplace sets a new standard for flexible, human-centered design; where collaboration, focus, and brand alignment seamlessly converge. We provided architecture, interior design, MEP engineering, FP engineering, structural engineering, low voltage engineering, and branding services for the dynamic space. Anchored by a signature interconnecting staircase, the centerpiece of the workplace, the design brings the clients concept of "Connection" to life. More than a circulation element, it creates opportunities for gathering, collaboration, and community, linking people to one another, to Miami's vibrant culture, and to the company's evolving future.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of John Thomas.

John was part of Ware Malcomb's story from the very beginning, not merely as a witness to its growth, but as one of the foundations of its success. As our first Principal of Design, he played a key role in growing the firm from 3 offices to 30, leaving a lasting impact on projects across the U.S. and around the world. The design vision, creativity, and standards of excellence he established helped shape the firm's identity and continue to guide us today.

A gifted mentor and compassionate leader, John generously shared his knowledge and inspired everyone around him. He believed deeply that no project was too small to deserve great design — that every client, every building, every detail was worthy of the same passion, care, and integrity. That philosophy is woven into our culture and continues to shape the way we approach our work every day.

We are deeply grateful for the 45-year legacy John leaves behind. His influence lives on in our projects, our culture, and the many architects and designers he mentored throughout his career. He made Ware Malcomb stronger, elevated our profession, and left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to work with him.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the Thomas family as they mourn this profound loss.
