A huge thank you to Captain Hale and Brazoria County Emergency Services District No 3 for opening the doors of the ambulance, better known as “The Box”, and giving our firefighters an inside look at the equipment and tools that help make emergency responses successful.

Every lesson learned today makes our firefighters more capable, more confident, and more effective tomorrow. Because when firefighters and EMS train together, our community wins. ❤️🚒🚑

Iowa Colony Fire Department Firefighter Injured During Mutual Aid Structure Fire

Earlier today at approximately 12:10 p.m., the Iowa Colony Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request from the Rosharon Fire Department for a structure fire in the 7000 block of W. FM 1462.

During interior firefighting operations, one firefighter from our part-time duty crew sustained a burn injury after debris fell from the ceiling. The firefighter was promptly assisted out of the structure by other firefighters on scene to a waiting ambulance for evaluation.

The firefighter was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. At this time, the firefighter is in stable condition and the injury is not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Brazoria County Fire Marshalls Office, and no additional details are available at this time.

The Iowa Colony Volunteer Fire Department appreciates the support and concern from the community. The safety and well-being of our personnel and the residents we serve remains our highest priority.
