Happy National Old Stuff Day! In case you didn't know, we love finding fun, unique upcycled furniture for the shop. Some of our favorite "old stuff" places -- Artifacts, Goodwill of the Heartland, Stuff Etc Quality Consignment, Houseworks and Facebook Marketplace!
With thanks to Todd who has greenlighted the honor of posting this brief remembrance to the Artifacts page.

As noted in the description area on YouTube:

This video clip was shot as a narrowcast for one of Margaret and Todd's pals, a former Artifacts member who was then and remains a much loved Iowa City ex-pat. The 15 second video greeting was sent off to him in his new home and received with delight.

Although I was never a full-time Artifacts regular, I did spend many happy hours every few months pouring over the store's formidable collection of vernacular photographs. Once I had made my selection it was always a treat to chat with Margaret. She truly brightened the days of her friends and 1000s of visitors.

Even though I no longer live in Iowa City, the thought of her not longer being in town and with us is heartbreaking. She will be forever remembered and appreciated.

In sadness,

Iowa City Press-Citizen obituary
Happy Juggling of items in your Expansion! I'm so happy for you and your customers; more breathing room in your aisles-to-be. Your shop is what I miss about Iowa ( and primo thunderstorms.)
After 25 years on the corner of Gilbert and Market, Iowa City vintage shop Artifacts is expanding into the neighboring space, tripling its square-footage.

"We're terrified and excited at the same," owner Todd Thelen said.
Check out this awesome vintage Hands ring box and vintage diamond and blue sapphire ring! Look closely at the logo on the box, not many know but we used to be opticians! We’re sticking to jewelry that’s for sure😂

Shout out to Artifacts for donating this ring box to our archives and for being one of the coolest stores in Iowa City! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your concern for the safety of your staff and fellow citizens.
Just stopped in at Artifacts and found this quilt, which clearly BELONGS in the Religion & Philosophy room.

There was a yellow one too, and it's kind of haunting me... how many comfy quilty chairs can one bookstore squish among the aisles?
That’s right I am a top fan!

No boring stuff allowed!

Operating as usual
