I love using my web development and social media skills to support area non-profits. I fell in love with this sector when I worked at Blackbaud. I love how passionate people are about working in their communities to make a difference.

I've been blessed to be working Susan Elsworth and Central Indiana NOFAS, Inc, which focuses on educating the public about fetal alcohol syndrome. "FASD" so much more complex than I ever understood or appreciated.

First, I really love TechSoup as a resource for non-profits. In addition to discounted IT products and services, their blog/newsletter provides useful technology guidance for non-profits.

Second, the article covers some solid "basics" for websites. One doesn't have to spend a lot of time or money for an online presence. But it's helpful to know where and how to spend limited resources.

The 5 points covered are:

3. Set Measurable Objectives
4. Collect and Create Images
5. Increase Your Capacity and Keep Your Online Presence Alive

I knew enough to mark it as spam and move on... but this is a great reminder to watch what you click unless you're certain it was sent by someone you know. Even then, if an email with a link or attachment comes to me out of the blue" from someone I know, or it lacks something very personal (not just my name!), I'll contact the sender first before opening.
