**225th CANE RIDGE REVIVAL ANNIVERSARY**
Last weekend, I traveled to Kentucky to attend the Cane Ridge REVIVAL Commemoration. It was a day of lectures, learning, fellowship, and worship. Thanks to the Disciples Historical Society for coordinating this gathering to help us to remember our Disciples history! Check out the videos when they are shared by DHS...
One of the most significant parts of the day for me was walking the steps up to the balcony to sit where our enslaved Black Disciples foreparents sat. I sat up there by choice. They did not. We might have come a long way in Church and society, but we still have a long way to go and we cannot forget that.

Out from the gloomy past
Till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast."

We're hiring for a new faculty member! Womanist/Black Feminist Scholar in Practical Theology, Theology, or Ethics. Applicants are expected to have a PhD or equivalent. ABD candidates may also apply. The successful candidate will teach four courses a year.
We offer a full range of benefits, including health insurance for faculty members (with a nominal employee contribution), a 14% contribution to a retirement fund, and generous funding for research, travel, and sabbaticals. The Foundations Conference is the Practical Ministry course in one afternoon that most clergy do not get in seminary and that most laity learn by catching lessons from the last generation of lay leaders. It will feature expert speakers on topics to reinforce the basic elements for ministry thriving and impact. The current topics to be addressed include Spiritual Gifts, Creative Children and Youth Ministry, Sermon Preparation, and Worship Planning.

**CLERGY RETREAT**
All Clergy are invited to a retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Christmount on September 1- 4, 2026.
How do we find strength of faith and community in the midst of deep erosion of democracy, connection, creation care and welcome? Register NOW! Green Chalice has some funds to support clergy, particularly clergy of color, to attend a Clergy Retreat that happens each fall at Christmount. It is a Grant funded event and so the registration is very affordable. We can support travel for clergy to attend.
