RPM Performance

Several projects in the works this month pushing to have completed by next week. Mostly new engine builds, or transmission and rear end rebuilds. Also a lot of maintenance type repairs like radiators, water pumps, or electrical gremlins. This hot summer has really stressed a lot on these muscle cars.

Check out this rare 86 Buick Regal T type that we did a complete engine rebuild on due to a lower end knock.
We ended up needing to:
Pull the engine, disassemble, and inspect the rotating assembly.
Resurface the cylinder heads, and Perform a complete valve job.
Degrease, hot tank, and clean the block
Cleaned and inspect Pistons
honed the cylinder walls for new rings.
Grind the crank .020/.020 and install with new correct main and rod bearings.
Reconditioned the rods and install pistons
Assemble engine with all new bearings, seals, and gaskets.
After we finished installing the engine with fresh oil, spark plugs, and minor tuning, we took the customer for a ride and his smile said everything!

Been an amazingly busy year at the shop. This week we finished up the GT40 repairs, and two new complete engine builds.
The 318 Dodge we bored .030 and replaced with flat top pistons to get 10-1 compression with the stock heads. The crankshaft was turned .010/.010 and bearings plastiguaged for the correct clearance. The heads were completely gone through and refreshened with valve job, guides, seals, and new springs.
The 327 Chevy engine was bored .040 with flat top pistons. Whole new rotating assembly, and a new set of aluminum heads that will get this engine real close to 11-1 compression. This will be a high revving, great sounding, HP making engine to propel the little nova deuce it’s going in. Can’t wait to have these cars back on the street, hanging out at with them at some of the same places, and watching them finally happy!

What a great night at the shop!! We had a really great turn out of not only customer cars, but also a lot of other nice cars, and nicer people!
I met several new people and couples that came up and introduced themselves that have been following us on social media. I gave several shop tours, scheduled 3 new jobs for next month, and talked to 2 business owners about collaborating together!
I’m really excited about the way things are looking for the shop going into fall!

Customer broke the 7.5” stock rear end on this LS swapped big wheel Caprice, so we painted and installed a Moser 9” with a Tru trac 3rd member and 3.73 gears. He won’t break this one!
