HWC’s Brian Sheehan and Cori Hall had a great time attending the Connersville Parks & Recreation's groundbreaking celebration for the Roberts Park Playground, Skate Park, and Loop Trail project that will bring exciting new amenities to the community!
With funding support from the Lilly Endowment Inc.'s GIFT VIII grant, the City of Connersville and Fayette Community Foundation - Connersville applied the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) delivery method to complete this project, which involved a partnership between HWC, GM Development, Schutte Excavating, Fayette Community Foundation, and the City of Connersville. HWC provided topographic survey, schematic design, and construction document services for the park.
We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the City, Fayette Community Foundation, GM Development, and Schutte Excavating on a project that will create a lasting impact for the Connersville community.

We're excited to announce the adoption of the 2026 Ripley County Comprehensive Plan! The Comprehensive Plan is a playbook for growth, investment, and decision-making over the next 10-20 years. Developed through extensive public engagement, the Plan reflects input from residents, business owners, and local leaders to establish a shared vision for the County’s future.
Building on the County’s last plan adopted in 2002, this update evaluates current conditions, identifies key challenges, and outlines actionable goals to support sustainable growth and enhanced quality of life. The Plan addresses issues such as housing availability, workforce development, infrastructure needs, and economic competitiveness while preserving Ripley County’s rural character and small-town identity.
While not regulatory, the Plan serves as the foundation for future zoning updates, capital improvements, and public-private partnerships. Its implementation framework identifies priorities and responsible parties to ensure progress over time. Ultimately, the Plan positions Ripley County to manage growth thoughtfully, strengthen its economy, and remain a vibrant, livable community for current and future residents.
