We loved spending time with families, friends, and neighbors as we kicked off a summer of fun and community. This is the first of many events, with Play in the Park happening almost every Tuesday throughout the summer!

Bring the whole family and come make summer memories with us!☀️

It started with a trip to the Smoky Mountains—a trip that many of the men never thought possible.

They stepped into exciting new experiences — hiking the Rainbow Falls Trail, taking on Whitewater rafting, and sharing delicious meals. More than just a getaway, the experience created space for growth—helping men build character, expand their mindset, and see new possibilities for themselves.
“This was my first time leaving Indianapolis. This trip introduced me to people I never would have opened up to, and being out in nature helped me refocus my life,” one participant shared.

This transformative trip was made possible through the support of the Indianapolis African American Quality of Life Initiative (IAAQLI), a collaboration between the National Urban League, the Indianapolis Urban League, and the African American Coalition of Indianapolis. Because of their investment, Brookside CDC was able to provide an experience that challenged, inspired, and left a lasting impact.

“Transforming homes to transform lives” is more than a phrase—it’s the heart behind this work. As a team, we prayed over this home and covered its walls in Scripture, intentionally speaking life, hope, and healing into every room. Soon, this house will become a safe and welcoming place for women and children—a space for restoration, renewal, and new beginnings. Long before the paint goes on or furniture moves in, the true foundation has already been laid: one of faith, purpose, and hope for the lives that will be changed here.

At Brookside CDC, we’re committed to helping women succeed in both the big and the small things. From career goals and financial responsibility to the everyday tasks that build consistency and confidence—we’re here every step of the way. Through faith, support, and community, we’re helping women walk in purpose and become strong, resilient women.

We are so excited to share our impact report, a reflection of the lives being changed through faith, hope, and practical support. As a Christian nonprofit, our mission is rooted in helping individuals experience true transformation—spiritually, emotionally, and in their everyday lives. This report highlights powerful stories of resilience, renewed purpose, and the ways God is moving through our work. Each number represents a person who has taken a step toward healing, growth, and a brighter future, and we are deeply grateful to be part of that journey.

Annual Impact Report — Brookside CDC

Today we’re setting up a new bed frame and mattress in one of our Brookside homes—preparing a space for the next woman who will walk through these doors. We’re covering her in prayer already, asking that the Lord’s hand be over her life and that this room would be filled with joy, peace, and renewed hope!
