BREAKING: Carmel has canceled its annual Christkindlmarkt as well as ice skating at the city’s outdoor skating rink due to concerns about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

JUST IN: Indianapolis Mayor Hogsett has announced that all bars and nightclubs will be closed in Indianapolis and Marion County until at least August 12th as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Marion County.

Other restrictions announced today include:

No in-person class instruction at schools until at least August 5th.

Restaurants will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity, and all restaurants must close between midnight and 5 a.m.

Personal services such as hair salons nail parlors will be by appointment only.

Gyms will be allowed to operate at only 25% capacity.

Sporting events must limit spectators to 25% of occupancy.

These restrictions will go into effect at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 24th.

BREAKING: Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb just announced that he will be issued a statewide mask mandate because of a recent rise in the COVID-19 positivity rate. The order will go into effect on Monday, July 27.

The mask order will apply to anyone 8 years and older in indoor public places or in outside public spaces when social distancing is not possible. Mask use also will be required in schools in grades 3 and up.

BREAKING: Governor Holcomb has announced that Indiana will remain at level 4.5 in the COVID reopening plan for at least two more weeks. Here’s what that means:

Restaurants can provide indoor seating at 75% capacity.

Bars can provide seating at 50% capacity.

Cultural and entertainment venues remain open at 50% capacity.

Gyms and fitness centers remain open at full capacity.

Malls and retail stores remain open at full capacity.

Campgrounds and youth summer day camps may remain open.

Movie theaters, bowling alleys and other non-essential entertainment businesses remain at 50% capacity.
