As part of the global collaboration, Premium Audio Company’s flagship brands, Klipsch and Onkyo, will serve as the exclusive promotional audio partners for this groundbreaking cinematic event, based on Homer’s foundational saga. Written for the screen and directed by Nolan, The Odyssey is the first film ever to be shot entirely with IMAX® cameras, using brand new technology.

1997 – HERITAGE

Paul W. Klipsch is inducted into the prestigious Engineering and Science Hall of Fame, an honor shared by Thomas Edison, George Washington Carver, and the Wright Brothers. The ESHoF recognizes those who have improved the quality of the human condition through an individual contribution, using engineering and scientific principles. Shortly after, the term “Heritage” is coined by the Klipsch marketing team for PWK’s original loudspeakers – including the Klipschorn, LaScala, Belle Klipsch, Cornwall, and Heresy. The moniker differentiated the product line from the company’s expanding multi-channel offerings. Klipsch Heritage Series means the product was based on PWK's legendary designs, and hand-assembled by proud craftspeople in Hope, Arkansas – where we've been making quality audio since 1946.

80 years of iconic Klipsch images | One Night Standout, 1978 – From the inception, a focus of Klipsch & Associates has always been live music. The company sponsored numerous factory concerts in the mid-70’s, often shutting down operations at 2pm and breaking out a keg (those were the days). In late 1977, a loading dock concert at the Klipsch plant featured the new MCM concert speakers and monitors. Terry Williams, an up-and-coming Hot Springs, Arkansas guitarist and good friend of President Bob Moers, performed for the employees. The next year Terry was featured in this iconic Klipsch industrial speakers print advertisement, shot by chief engineer Gary Gillum. The ad, titled “one night standout” ran in Rolling Stone, Guitar Player, Musician’s Guide, Pickin’, and Country Music Magazine September and October of 1978. What most people never realized is that Bob Moers is hiding behind Terry. His hand can barely be seen holding the Hope population sign, just below Terry’s left elbow. Sadly, Terry died of cancer two years later. Prior to his death, he created a beautiful stained-glass window of the Paul W. Klipsch logo for Bob, which now resides in Klipsch museum curator Jim Hunter’s home.
