Cobb Convention Center Atlanta has reopened with a fresh identity and the first phase of a $190 million renovation and expansion underway. Formerly known as Cobb Galleria Centre, the venue now features updated exhibit halls, refreshed ballroom and prefunction spaces, renovated restrooms, new lighting and sound systems, digital signage, improved food outlets and a renovated kitchen. The next phase will add a two-story grand entryway, a 7,200-square-foot junior ballroom, 11 new meeting rooms, an executive boardroom and and an 11,000-square-foot event courtyard. The expansion is expected to continue through early 2027, and will remain open as work continues.

Visit Fort Worth has named Mitch Whitten as its new president and CEO. Whitten has served the organization for 13 years, most recently as chief operating officer, and will lead efforts to grow Fort Worth’s visibility as a destination for meetings, sports, entertainment and cultural attractions. His appointment comes as the city continues to build momentum in its hospitality industry and prepares for the expanded Fort Worth Convention Center, expected to be completed in 2030.
