The Ability Indiana Program was established in 1976 as a means to provide sustainable, fulfilling employment to individuals with disabilities.

Ability Indiana is a purchasing program that encourages state, county and other units of government to purchase products and services from approved Ability Indiana employment centers without competitive bidding. As part of its ongoing mission to promote the employment of persons with disabilities, Ability Indiana is the Central Coordinating Agency for the program.

Four INARF member organizations, Abilities Services, Inc., Corvilla Studio Five9, Developmental Services, Inc., and Janus, Inc., are showcasing their talented artists at the University of Indianapolis' Schwitzer Student Center through June 6, 2025. The exhibit highlights the incredible work created by individuals with disabilities, offering a platform for these artists to share their creativity with the broader community.

This exhibit represents the continued commitment to supporting and showcasing the talents of individuals with disabilities, fostering an inclusive and vibrant arts community. The exhibit will be on display until June 6, 2025, and is open to the public. We encourage everyone to visit the Schwitzer Student Center at 1400 E. Last Friday, over 130 attendees gathered to celebrate the unveiling of this year's Indianapolis Airport Art Exhibit. The event featured a series of speeches from community leaders, including Mario Rodriguez, Executive Director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, and Jeff Uhey, Director of Operations for Children Adult Resource Services (CARS) and Chairman of the Ability Indiana Board of Directors. Deputy Mayor Judith Thomas also addressed the audience, reaffirming the city's commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities. Attendees got to hear a moving performance from Robert Hoey, a member of the New Hope of Indiana Choir, and enjoy treats from Do Goodies popcorn from Opportunity Enterprises. Thank you to Megan Carrico for emceeing the event.

For those passing through the Indianapolis International Airport this month, be sure to stop by Civic Plaza to view the exhibit and join in the celebration of art, talent, and inclusion. This ongoing partnership is a testament to the power of creativity and community, making Indianapolis a more vibrant place for all.
